Small update on the 40 series progress.

Also, received my 40 series trans inspection cover from @swamp-thing.
Thanks to both of you for the speedy delivery.

Also, found a replacment FD cable from @Jim Root and just waiting on delivery.
Little things to get out of the way.

Will do Matt!
Thanks

Modified the later trans hump cover for my 71 FJ40.
I would say it’s pretty close!
May try my hand in some welding.
Will see if my semester of welding class helped some.

Received my FD cable and actuator. Installed it and lubed it up. Works perfect.
Thanks @Jim Root 👍🏽
Ordered a rebuild kit for the valve actuator through Amaya. I hope it works out and fits.

Installed my air rail plugs and manifold plug I got from @ToyotaMatt.
They fit perfect.
Also, found that pesky backrest pin for my 40 series split seat. Thanks to @ClassicCruisers for pulling through and find it.

Slowly getting closer to getting this project on the road and running.
Little trans hump modification needed then I can drop the tank in strap it up and connect the fuel lines.
Need to order brake master, booster and proportioning valve.

Update:
Been working on the 40 lately with some small stuff.
Just recently installed the cowl vent drain hoses. And the grommets to it.
Easiest method so that the grommets don’t slide out is used windex glass cleaner and they slide nicely.

Also received and installed my new city racer brake booster and a new master cylinder from RockAuto. Waiting on proportioning valve then my brakes are all set after I bleed them.
Removed the the water pump and ordered a new water pump kit from ToyotaMatt.

Removed the spare tire carrier piece and added spacers so that the spare fits and door closes.
May need to replace the tire carrier portion because the studs are some SAE size.

Had to do a little bit of big a** hammer modifications to the trans hump so that my tank would fit in.
Then installed my fuel tank, hooked up the fuel line and fuel gauge wire and strapped it down.

Now on to installing my bench seats.
And heater box and lines.

I didn’t like the way the previous tire carrier looked and had the wrong studs on it as well.
Reached out here on Mud and @hyhpe reached out and said he had a nice one.
He sent it out along with a drivers side door glass. Which arrived today. Got the tire carrier installed. Now I can use the correct lug nuts for it.
Thanks again! 👍🏽

I had an extra brake booster in my garage from my previous FJ60 I parted out.
I removed the brackets that held the proportioning valve and the hard line hose for the vacuum. And I transferred it to the new brake booster on my 40 series. And installed the cityracer proportioning valve I purchased to it.
Manipulated the rear brake line to fit the new PPV and need to make a new line from the MC to the other side of the PPV. I am happy with the set up and got to use Toyota parts as well.
Oh and Dry cleaner hangers are great for forming and as templates for new lines.
