Removed the fiberglass dome on the 40 this week. It was all broken and not even attached. Bailing wire across the top to hold it down.

Got a new bumper and bumper plates installed on the 40. New windshield hood cushions installed. Rear brakes finally finished and adjusted. Just need to bleed the system. I have a steering wheel on order.
Next on the list is to drop the three speed and gather the four speed and load into the 60 series and drive up to Stockton and drop them off too George at Valley Hybrid and have the four speed rebuilt and use anything off the three speed as a donor.

Picked up a set of Kuhmo 30x9.5x15 tires for the Stripes. Thought I go different and try these tires out.
Also, dropped off the 4 spd trans/transfer case at Valley Hybrids to have it rebuilt.

Removed the burnt flywheel on the 40. Dug up the 2F flywheel to have it resurfaced. also removed the fuel tank. it looked pretty good till I turned it over and scraped off the rust on it. some big holes appeared.
need to find a replacement and or buy a new one from CCOT.
Either way things are moving along.

For the price of the CCOT replica tank, I think it's a no-brainer to just get a new one. Thanks for sharing your build, looks like this is going to be a great truck when you're done!

Nice 71! It’s like the twin to mine. Im in for all the same work you’re going thru.

New fuel tanks are available from Toyota. 77100-60012. About $350

Did some clean up of the bottom of the fuel tank area. Removed all the scale with a grinder and and then sprayed it with Rust reversal spray. Prepping it for POR15.

Nice, did you consider a 60 top cover since you need to cut a hole anyways? They do shift a lot nicer.

No I didn’t actually.
I have one here May just do that.
Matt, are you converting your shifters to the floor transfer and trans?
if so can I buy the lever that is underneath the dash for the high and low shift?
