Hello, all!

I've been wanting a bug guard for my rig for a while now. Last year I bought one off of some site called Brandsport.com. The guard I was sent did not fit. It looked too big, and the holes didn't line up. The instruction manual and box both said Toyota, though. And it looked like it was OEM or official. Do all 80's have factory-holes in the hood for you to attach a bug-guard? Cruiserparts has an ad for one, but I want to make sure I'm getting something that will fit and look right. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Here's some pictures of what it looked like when on my rig. (It looks odd, right?)

FWIW, I just bought a '94 for my daughter. It came complete with a plastic water trap attached to the leading edge of the hood. I pulled it off immediately after we got home.

Given the airflow pattern on the hood and lower windshield, and the low projection of these aftermarket air dams, I can't see any advantage; personal preferences for looks notwithstanding.

Regularly wash and wax the hood, and you won't have a paint problem. No, those holes under the hood aren't stock, at least not on any of the 5 80 models I've had.

When I purchased mine, it had a bug deflector. There are a number of threaded holes under the hood. Deflector should bolt right into that and the top rested on four 4 rubber nubs stuck to the top of the hood. Mine did not look like yours, but I can't remember if it had a Toyota logo now or not...
