Louisiana 4xFest 2012 - Final Thoughts... | Louisiana Offroad

I'm amazed at how much we raised. That's awesome.. :D

Read the second paragraph, I love the "the flagship vehicle of off-roading is the ALL-AMERICAN LEGEND Jeep Wrangler. Although the Jeep makes up the bulk of the pack, it is in no way alone. The Toyota Land Cruiser....and many others are all part of a family of off-road vehicles to round out Off-Roading vehicles as we know it. "

I don't totally agree, and some of the other jeep guys probably disagree also, but at least we were mentioned, somewhat. :D

Thanks
Cody

I spoke with Josh yesterday at great length about a few things that did / did not happen at 4X Fest. He is very passionate about this sport and he is a jeep guy so naturally he feels that the "flagship" of the sport is a jeep. He mentioned this fact a few times on the phone. I don't think it's because he is a Toyota hater but just because he is a jeep guy. I didn't necessarily agree with everything he said yesterday but he has a lot of great ideas and plans for next year's event already. And what he is doing is good for the entire off-road community in this area.

I fully understand mike. I was just saying. :). I hope it continues to grow and prosper. I know I had a blast. And will define tk go back next year

Totally agree Mike, I met Josh in 07 at the LA4X4 meetings when he and AWOL along with LA4X4 were working on the first Expo which the 4xFest turned out to be an exact replacement of that Expo model. As the only Toyota Grp we had to work our way in and of course we were the odd ducks among a sea of Jeeps. We made friendships with the AWOL and the LA4x4 folks and put out our own flyers in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Lafayette to draw the Toyota's to the events. All three Expo's were very successful not only for the money in drew in for TARC but by bringing the offroad community together and forging friendships we still have in place today. It also gave our members and other non-members a chance to get dirty on the trails with the Jeeps and others vehicles and share time and work together. The only difference which was probably the biggest draw of the Expo is that you had trail guides busing groups of 10 or so rigs to wheel the Paradise property which was a great place in the early years. Some benefits that came out those Expo relationships was the development of Sicily Island, numerous Bayou State rides of the Paradise Property hosted by AWOL, numerous rides of the Coles Creek Property and the Club Challenge. We were never fortunate enough to have donated land to ride so having the opportunities to join these clubs and participate in what was about as local wheeling opportunity as we were going to find was an awesome opportunity. I didn't get to give it my all just returning from vacation before the 4xFest but I did post flyers at both local offroad shops. My hope at all of these events going back to the Expo days was to let the other Toyota and Cruiser owners out there in the state know they had a club that was out there participating and they have an association they'd be welcomed at. Josh and team won't send invites to all the Toyota folks out there that'll be our job but he will grant us the stage and allow us to be a participating club and we have to jump on the opportunity to get involved as an active club in the state because you never know the doors it can open :) I used the 4xFest to touch base with those folks and Larry Flowers came by to say Hi I especially told him we'd be back for the Club Challenge and would be volunteering hopefully I get some friends up there with me :D
