Just wonder. I know there is a lot of mention of Costa Rica on here. I thought you may have been referring to Cedar Rapids and I would have to drive my 4Runner up to meet you for lunch and a beer!

I bet!

Yes, I have reports for pretty much every area on the Pacific side. Where are you fishing? Los Suenos? Jaco? Dominical? Unfortunately the fishing hasn't been very good anywhere. The long liners are really killing tons of fish this year. The best months to fish are Jan-March. The problem is that it is summer time (no rain) down here during those months. We are experiencing La nina which means that it has never stooped raining and this makes the water pretty dirty due to the rivers flowing at a higher rate than normal for this time of year. The one thing that is going to work to your advantage is that you will be fishing on the backside of the moon. Tell your captain you would like to use a blue and white islander with a ballyhoo or a Mold Craft wide range, black and orange. I am not trying to give you bad news. On any given day..........I hope you have tight lines and good times.

I'm looking forward to it and even if the lines aren't tight a good times are definitely in order! We are fishing out of Jaco and I'll be sure to put in those request for baits. This is my first time to CR and I'm fired up!

That would've been sweet! If I'm ever on that end I'll let you know!

If you ever decide to take a real trip and visit somewhere exotic, just let me know!

Ha ha... will do!

Safe travels bud and I wish you all a successful fishing trip

Thank you sir!

I heard nothing but great reports this weekend. The best report I heard was 27 sails and 1 blue marlin (day trip). It has stopped raining as much and the moon is perfect. I hope you catch, and I am sure you will have good times. I think you will love this country.

Fellas, my missing out on the trip this past weekend was well worth it. My daughter, Sydney, is a freshman at Catholic High in New Iberia and plays varsity soccer. They played in the semi-final game of the state playoffs Friday night in BR against Episcopal BR. They won in 3OT and she played awesome. I was so proud of her. She played almost the entire game and all of the OT. They're on to the Championship Game on Friday in New Orleans at Tad Gormley Stadium. I think I'm more excited than my daughter. She has no clue what it means to be playing for a chance to be a State Champion. Anyway, I'm just a proud Papa and wanted to share that with all of you.

Oooo that's nice! Is that an 80 axle? Did that solid front end come stock? Sorry I don't know much about runner history.

Not quite wide enough. Most likely a production that we do not have here, or it is a early model axle that someone put a lot of work into in order to run it on coils.

Looks remarkably like an 80 axle. They are a custom offroad place in Germany... who knows.

Update on my wife...

She was admitted to St. Francis in Peoria, IL yesterday due to a low platelet count.

She has received a transfusion of platelets and two transfusions of plasma. With platelets only increasing by 7 points

Currently, they are testing for either TTP or PNH. Her body seems to be producing platelets, but destroying them quickly. She's in pretty bad shape, but doing a lot better since she was admitted. She has lost 9 lbs since last Thursday.
