fishing is like watching paint dry:flipoff2:

Depends on who you go fishing with.:flipoff2:

All joking aside, I took some clients fishing for a 3 day trip in Costa Rica years ago. We fished for three days straight without a single bite. These clients flew down and spent a ton of money to catch billfish. Well on the third day around 2 pm they were starting to give me some pretty ugly looking expressions. I am sure they were thinking "this guy doesn't know what he is doing". Around 2:30 we got our first bite. By 5:00 we had caught what fishermen call a super-slam. A black marlin, blue marlin, striped marlin and a sailfish all in one day. Not too many people can say they have ever achieved that. It is very rare and it saved my ass.

Fishing can be slow but the rewards can be worth it.

I'm heading to CR this coming Wed. for a bachelor party. We're supposed to be fishing Thurs. I'm hoping to just latch on to something. Are you hearing any reports?

Yes, I have reports for pretty much every area on the Pacific side. Where are you fishing? Los Suenos? Jaco? Dominical? Unfortunately the fishing hasn't been very good anywhere. The long liners are really killing tons of fish this year. The best months to fish are Jan-March. The problem is that it is summer time (no rain) down here during those months. We are experiencing La nina which means that it has never stooped raining and this makes the water pretty dirty due to the rivers flowing at a higher rate than normal for this time of year. The one thing that is going to work to your advantage is that you will be fishing on the backside of the moon. Tell your captain you would like to use a blue and white islander with a ballyhoo or a Mold Craft wide range, black and orange. I am not trying to give you bad news. On any given day..........I hope you have tight lines and good times.
