Yep, I stopped in. You know it's fitting that you replied and it's also fitting that you posted in the meeting section about your desire to work on the website and put pictures of members' rigs on the site as well. My idea is to have a meeting down here in the Berry at a piece of property I recently purchased. It's a little over 5 acres on the Bayou Teche with dozens of 100 yr old and 200 yr old live oak trees - 13 of them are registered with the Live Oak Society. There are also three old Cypress Barns on the property. I bought it (even though I can't afford it - a little thing like being able to afford something has never stopped me before) because I think it's one of the most beautiful properties you will ever lay eyes on. There's a nice house on it, albeit a bit too small and dated for my taste. Anyway, with all of the Huge Oaks and Barns and Bayou, it would make a great setting for a photo shoot of the club's member rigs. It is truly picturesque. We could do a photo essay of our club for the website. Heck, something like that might even make it into Toyota Trails. Imagine a few vehicles scattered under Majestic Moss Laden Oak Trees or an older FJ40 in one of the barns eliciting the emotion of the famed "barn find" or a few next to the lazy Bayou. As talented as you are behind the camera, I would want you to be the one to capture these images once you return home. As a side note, I also want to hire you to take some Family Photos out there. My kids are growing like weeds and I need to document this time on their lives before too long. In any case, that's what I have in mind and I think it would be a very cool way to show off everyone's vehicle.

Glad to know you'd be interested in doing this. The property is on 182 going towards Jeanerette, just outside the city limits of the Berry before you get to Doug Ashy. It's right past that open field that used have that big pipe running above ground from the Bayou up to 182. The whole place is fenced in with a 4' hurricance fence. When I got it, you couldn't even see the house for the bushes in front of it. I've been out there busting it to get the place in shape. It's my intention to one day tear down the house and build my final house out there. In the interim, I'll probably rent out the house. I just need to find the right tenant who will respect the property. Anyway, stay safe over there and get back home soon. I don't know if it seems like it to you, but to me it seems like time is flying. May the next 5 months go by quickly for you.

Sounds like a great place to relax :)

That's the place Jon. I could rent it to you if I can keep my wife from renting it out first. She's on my case big time to rent it out. I've just been enjoying going out there and working on the property. The house is big enough to turn a couple of bedrooms into a studio for indoor photography and the landscape would give you one heck of a draw for people who wanted some outdoor photos. I'll try to hold off the "broom rider" so it'll be available when you return. Notes to Larry: 1. It is a great place to relax (and even work). 2. The "broom rider" comment was for you!

Since I joined the club I always thought that a photo shoot under some huge oaks was the way to go. I think Larry and I even talked about it. The place I was thinking about was the monastery out by Lake Martin. Now that you have the trees and property......I like your style (other than getting rid of your 78' :flipoff2:).

Don't worry Isaac, you don't have to be concerned that we think alike! AND, as for me getting rid of the '78, I'm sure it won't be too long before another is sitting in my garage......it'll be lucky #7.

yeah but it can turn around in 18.4 feet, only weights about as much as 3/4 truck and has 280 ft/lbs of torque.

of course none of us would ever have a need for it, but i'm sure it has its niche.

83k for a 150 hp 4 cyl diesel slug huummmmr think not:)

I've always liked the design but never thought it made production, far from the reality of ever owning one I'd sure sport it :D Would be nice to drop that Toyota turbo diesel V8 like in the 70 series PU in this issue of Toyota Trails.

rember at scc that gusy had the freightlighner for sale and he drove his rig in backk thats was sweet ,... i wish toyota would got through with the production of the tundra turbo diesel i saw apic of a concept in like 4 wheel off road it was sweet , but idk y toyota dont make one , they have great diesel engines ,
