I say they are little $$$$ but look sweet.

Sounds like a good plan Josh, I have no personal experience with the truck camper but have walked in a few at the camper shows and they make some really nice ones. It would seem taking it out and in the bed of the truck would become a pain in a short period of time but with you planning to add it to a fifth wheel later becomes a much nicer option and a sweet setup :)

I used to pull mine with a 18 foot Big Tex trailer. It was on the trailer and it had about 8 feet of back deck.:D I used it in gueydan to goose and duck hunt. I pulled it with my old FJ-60. 45 MPH was top speed.:hillbilly:

Josh, I am sure you know the area I kept it in. JD Simon Rd.

Sounded like a nice setup the 60 was working hard to move that load. :)

Welp, word is we are getting a truck allowance starting July 1st. Currently we have some stripped F-150s that we check out and take on jobs. Unless I am required to get a pickup, I plan on using the LX for at least 6 mos. to see how it goes. From talking to directional drillers and higher level LWD guys who already get a truck allowance, I should expect to put abut 16-20k miles a year on it.

I know the mpg will suck but I am pretty stoked to finally be able to tool around in a cruiser when I am away on a job for a month. (Of course I am stuck offshore right now though)

Nice, and more coin for mods :D Anything out of Lafayette they pay me .36 a mile in the 80 it cost that and then some usually . I calculate the mileage before my trips and in the out of state trips it pays to rent a corolla or camry from Enterprise since there is no limit on mileage I just pay the day rate. In those cases the expense mileage will pay for the rental and gas and in some cases I still put a little back in my pocket when I rented the corolla. I try to save the trip mileage and wear on the 80 for wheeling and vacation trips.
