k that what i was thinking , i just thought it would be lower , he said thers 5 sumthing gears in the d44s im gona pull the coves off and look se what is marked on the ring gear , im gon be working on it alll day tomarro ,
You don't have to pull the cover to check your gear ratio. You can just jack up the rear and spin the back tires. The drive shaft should turn over 4.1 times for 4.11 gears....etc. If you want to be more exact (since 4.1 is hard to get exact), spin the tire 10 times and the shaft should spin 41 times.
For your t-cases:
To check the front t-case ratio, put your tranny in 4th, then put the front t-case in low and leave the rear t-case in high. Crank the motor 2 1/4 times by hand and you should get about 1 turn of the drive shaft.
The rear t-case is the same except the front t-case is left in high and the rear is now in low (you will need to unlock your front hubs or have the front tires off the ground along with the rears). Turn the motor 4 3/4 to get one turn of the drive shaft.
Make sense?
Scott said they're doing good.
