What? You're gonna miss the BBQ? My kids will be so disappointed. They thought they were halfway to heaven at the crawfish boil when they rode in the back of your vehicle and you backed up that gravel pile. You're gonna be missed!

Well, Thats just the way it works I guess. I go on a streak of bing in for stuff, then a streak of missing everything.
I will be thinking of yall on the day of the BBQ I am sure while I am out here doing what ever... My Boss is schedualled to be taking a vaction that week and he is telling the higherups that Me and the guy working with me can handel the platform by our selves and they dont need to find a replacement for him....... sad thing is he does so little out here that its true. >.<

What platform are you working on?
EI224 right now. Got contacted for a job that would be a 12 dollar an hour raise... In Colorado... Not sure what to make of it. it is doing land production Contracted out to Encana. Seems like it would be a good job, the company owns a townhouse that out of towners can live in so i would not have to worry about finding a place to live right off the bat. Just it is along way from everything/one I know And they got that fluffy white crap I read about somewhere, i think it is called snow?
Good thing is they have said you pretty much can just name the time you want off so I could still take the time and meet everyone for atleast one ride a year or something... what am I talking about I probably wont even go, to chicken

I used to fish Eugine Island in the 90's. Nice sow Snappers in your neck of the woods.
If the cost of living doesn't exceed the $12 extra an hour too bad compared to Louisiana, I'd say go for it. Thats just me......I like to see the sites.

Well if I am understanding correctly, it is working 6 weeks on, six weeks off. Or just continue working indefinatly. I dont have to have a place up there and can come home for my month and a half off and just enjoy being oil field trash
And you know... I have never even fished off one of these platforms ever
I just dont enjoy fishing, and I would hate to have to clean them if I did catch one. Alot of Ling around my platform. See atleast one everyday, and sometimes just a mess of them... Alot of Baracudas to though.According to some websites I was looking at, the cost of living is about 10 % higher in the part of Colorado that I Would be working in, And I woulld be making 45 % more thna I am now. So i think I would win out there, just need to figure out how much driving I would be doing getting there and back, and also if I would be using my truk up there or if there is a company truck, or atleast a gas card.

I LOVE to fish... However, it's a hobby... and I'm sure like everything else... can be a tough job if done full time.

You know at first, when I found out what you did for a living I thought, "WOW That is so Cool!" Then I got to thinking, you have probably seen some pretty bad ... ummm ..."disaster areas" And you know you cant react with the level of digust and horor that a normal guy can because I am sure there is some law against that.

Found out more on the job if anyone is interested. The company is only three monts old and they currently offer no benifits. It is set up so that I would be a subcrontractor os somethign or other, they would not do any tax withholding and I would have to hire someone to do my taxes. According to them I could set my own schedual so just throw what I said about 6weeks out the window, I could do 28 and 28. "work when I want to work" the man says. I wish I was not such a suspicious person but alot of this, except for the lack of company suplied insurance and 401k seems almost too good to be true. he says he has talked to his supervosor about me and the supervisor would like to talk when I get back on land and that most of their employees dont have as much oilfield experiance as I have at this point (that is kinda frightening actually)

Yes! I am totally tired of fishing. Burnt out to the core. Serious. Sorry to disappoint, but still having to grab a scrub brush and wash a boat totally sucks. You asked. And if you think that sucks, wait till you read my next post.

Talking about the shower situation at Gray Rock. We are checking into renting a portable shower unit. If it's not too expensive we will do it. Sure would be nice to have something other than what we have had in the past. The shower we usually set up is nice for a few people but not the crowd at SCC. I should know something Monday.

I say we bring some blue tarp, garden hose, and some 2x4s and make a shower if one is not available and charge a cover charge
