Had a good time last year (link to last year's run), but I heard a lot of stories about what used to take place. It'd be nice to see if we could get this event back up to it's former glory, or at least somewhere close to that. Also looking forward to seeing the sand dunes for the first time. Might be able to get the whole family out camping for this one...
 
My boss (Mrs) will likely attend. Is this a Toyota only event? Meaning can a early Bronco come along? Very nice guy and trying to get his Mrs out too. If not no sweat.

In the two years I've wheelin' with these guys, I can think of just a few runs that were only Toyotas. Early Broncos are on my top 5 favorite vehicles of all time.
 
What are the thoughts on camping?

  • In the fairgrounds?
  • Somewhere along the clean up trail?
  • Somewhere closer to Medano?
  • Somewhere else entirely?

As of right now, I'm planning on camping Friday and Saturday nights.
 
We always camped at the fairground because it was easier to get up and walk over to the pavilion for grouping, instructions, and your free doughnut. I believe a lot of times the camp picked up and moved up to the mountains. If there is no "official" meeting, I say we just camp up the trail.
 
Should be a 40 and a bronco from the valley, any idea on itinerary yet? If there is camping on the trail wouldn't that be easier? The trail doesn't seem that long, what is planned so we can start working Logistics?
 
Not sure I'm going to be able to make the whole weekend. :(

My wife had one of her managers move out of state, so now she's scheduled herself to cover that weekend.

I'm working on getting my in-laws to watch the kiddos (at least the 10 month old) so I can still make it.

I'll let you guys know what's up ASAP.

Had my original email forwarded to another FS guy in the Westcliffe area, but no word from him yet...

Thinking if nothing else, we can go do our own thing like we did last years.
