Brake Issues

Hi Everyone,

While taking the kids to soccer practice, my abs and brake lights came on and I lost all brake pressure. I checked the brake reservoir and there’s no fluid remaining and it was leaking underneath the vehicle.

My lx did spend some time in the snow so it does have some rust. I’m wondering if it’s a rupture brake line or if it’s a brake booster issue.

Based on the leak being at the center of the truck I think it’s the long brake tube that ruptured.

Yep, replace that line, def. inspect the others for corrosion. Tire looks shiny/wet too, maybe check the calipers as well.

Great catch. I notice that the driver side rear had a lot of fluid on the inside portion. I got it towed home, I’ll buy the stainless steel lines for it since the lx470 is lifted 3 inches all around. This might have stretched the lines and caused it to fail.
