So I bought a set of Hella 700FF lights last week, and when I opened the box, there were no installation instructions or a wiring diagram included... even though it's supposed to be. If I knew something about wiring and electrical work, I might not have a problem, but since I don't know a damn thing about said subject, I need some help.

If anyone has a link, or a pic of the diagram that I was supposed to get with the lights, could you post a link? And if anyone has any input on how to wire them, please speak up!

From what I gather from reading results from my forum search, I want to have them running off switched power from my running lights (first turn of the stalk, headlights off, side markers and such on).

What are you trying to achieve with these lights?

Did they come with a relay?

i.e. when do you want them to be on and when do you want them to be off versus your stock lighting?

cheers,
george.

Yes they came with a relay and a wiring kit, but I have no idea how to wire them.

I want to be able to turn them on/off independently of my headlights, but have them be only able to come on if I have my lights turned on, that way if I forget to turn them off, they will go off when I turn my normal headlights off... if that makes any sense.

Check out the aux light harness (or build your own the same way) and jumper harnesses that SLEE sells, makes this an easy install:

So, this is not quite what you wrote in your first post...

It would seem you want them to be able to turn on with you parking lights, headlights (low or high) but be able to override them to be off at any time.

If that's the case, then it's pretty simple ASSUMING you understand how the supplied relay works - I presume it's the standard automotive relay with numbers like 85/87 etc written next to the contacts??

cheers,
george.

You are probably going to be disappointed with these Hella 700 series , I was, I had 4 mounted to the foreward end of my truck and my headlamps were actually brighter Used reelays and everything. Just sayin You may want to just battery up one to see the pattern.
