Bosch iBooster Brackets for 60/80 Series – Tested in Moab, Ready to Go

A quick update on the Bosch iBooster brackets:

I finally received the first production batch and have started assembling hardware kits for fitment. The firewall-side brackets are complete and ready to go. The only remaining item is the master cylinder side, where I'm currently using a hand-made adapter pin. I'm working on getting that component finalized before releasing them for sale.

This is currently a small pre-production run, so I'll only have a handful available initially while I gauge demand and make sure everything is exactly how I want it before moving into larger production.

Pricing is still being finalized, but I'm targeting somewhere in the $250-$350 range. Once I have everything nailed down, I'll post ordering information and a link here.

Thanks to everyone who's expressed interest so far. It's exciting to finally have these in hand after a lot of testing and development.

For those who missed the original post, this is the same setup I installed on my 80 and tested in Moab. Combined with stock calipers, stock rotors, quality pads, stainless braided lines, and no ABS, it delivered the best braking performance I've ever had from the truck.

You mentioned a harness was included in the first post. Can you tell us anything about that?

Thanks

Spectacular, Tor. I am in as soon as you release them!

I predict that limited run is going to sell out FAST. I know I'll buy one if I catch it.

Maybe send me a DM to get on the list, and I can maybe make a pre-purchase link? I should be able to ship a couple now with in-house made pins but then have a bunch available to ship in a month.
i definitely want one! i can wait a month

Well now that I got the early pre-orders I figured I could post a link to where anyone can get on the list for the iBooster adapter kit. I expect to be able to fill a few more orders by mid-late July at this point. I have a few components still being manufactured. Thanks for all your support for Torfab!

Hopefully when sourcing a booster, you don't get an eBay seller like I did. They wanted me to send them a VIN number for the part to ensure it's the correct item. FFS, I don't have a #^@&ing Honda Accord, I just want the electric brake booster.

Yeah, they are just covering their a$$ from a return or negative comment...that said, I had a similar concern from my local Toyota dealer when I ordered a reman A750F for my 80 and the anticipated swap coming soon....they definitely wanted to have a conversation before confirming that order!

And also very interested for my 80 too...sounds like a fantastic upgrade!

That harness says it is for a Chevy C10. So I am guessing it needs a little modification for us on an 80 series?
I am wondering the same. I can't seem to find any threads on what is needed to get the wiring right on an 80. I assume it will have pedal position based on the rod so would it only need switched power?

This article says that is all that is needed.

There’s also a bit of wiring to contend with, but that’s simple, too: a constant hot wire with an inline fuse, a switched circuit, and a ground wire. That’s all there is to it. As we mentioned, the iBooster’s brain is integrated, so there’s no separate controller.

The C10 harness will work, it needs solid power and ground along with an ignition wire. The harness I linked is perfect in size and has worked in mine. I'm considering making one that's plug and play but haven't gotten that far yet.
