Maybe the brake booster is the original one, it was on there when I bought it, I had a new oem one laying around, but it was working fine and looked good, we cleaned it up a little and used it again

To do this FJ43 build thread is a lot of work and you have to go through a lot and a lot of pictures, found this picture from a couple of years ago.

I just wanted to share this

2 of the 40's are already replaced by others in the herd, weird enough at that time I thought I was selling them to very good new owners

So is it a huge price difference in restoration between Colombia and the U.S. ?

Well maybe I can give a good answer on your question, this restoration is not done in Colombia, I am in the South Caribbean, our import taxes here are 37% on the price of the goods plus on top of it the cost of transport in the continental US and maritime transport from there to the island To put it in amounts:

I paid for a used 8247 Warn Winch $1000, transported it to Ford Lauderdale for $420 dollars (incl freight forwarder costs) and from Fort Lauderdale to the island was another $600 for transport= So that's $1000 +$420 +$600= $2020 + 37% import taxes that max $2767.00 for a 37 years old which.

It seems some things are cheaper in the US

Aren't those shocks up side down? Also why didn't they remove the door limiter or door latch before painting the tub?

Shocks: Seems to be the way they these Biltsteins 5100 go,

Limiters: Good Catch, changed them later

The shocks will mount either way but the way I read on here and the way I installed my 5100s was so that the writing was right side up. Probably fine either way though.

We played with it also, and most of them I saw were on the way they are now, don't know if it makes a difference in functioning though

Nice build! Can you post up some photos of the inside and outside of your rear door? I haven't seen a one piece on any other 40 except the south american versions and would love to see some detail.
@DavidA , but this is a "South American" one

@MOTOV8R i will look it up what is the exact name and let you know

As I wanted to keep the original dash cluster, this was the only way to make it look new and keep it
