The TIME commitment for this will be Friday, May 22nd, FROM 1pm-6pm. Does that leave enough time to start drinking afterwards, Sweatyforehead ;)

Sorry PeeZed, I do in fact have work, otherwise I'd be there....best of luck finding ample vehicles

I like the idea of that troopy! Give me a ride when you source one haha

Aye, that seems like ample time.
Ill bring my camera along to take some shots of the adventure.

I guess we're mostly ferrying kids up some logging roads?

I can't quite commit at this point, but I do have Fridays off and if nothing else come up I will try and come help. As longs as people don't mind getting in a 2 door

Yeah, GTS is correct, it's a women's retreat so it will be women, not kids in your vehicle.

As a side note, I would say the only part which somewhat wigs me out is on the way back down near the top when you come down a short hill and then have to turn perpendicular onto the main road...if you don't make the turn then there may be a 2nd "plane crash" on that mountain, if you know what I'm saying (You'll be flying for a couple hundred feet before "landing"). I just transfer into low gears and let the engine do the work to be honest...don't want to lock up the 'ol brakes and go sailing!

Depending what time of day Friday, I may be able to come up and help out. Already planning camping trip / bday / depart party up island that weekend so could work out.

Koopz, check out post #22 for more details. It begins in Mesachie Lake just outside of Lake Cowichan. Would be great to have another confirmed vehicle!

How many people are we actually taking up? We've got 2 60s and maybe a 70...

Sweatyforehead, as per post #16 below:

UPDATE: It's a GO!

There will be around 20 women needing a ride up to the Plane Crash Site.

I CAN take 4 passengers and myself, but I'm not sure if having three across the bench in the back is better than just two or not? It's not me back there so my opinion doesn't really matter, and if we need to squish then so be it.

Soooooooo...Who's in? We will probably need another 5-6 vehicles total. Please though, don't feel pressured as the organizer realizes that this is somewhat last minute and if we can't make it happen then that's life.

I will know soon whether or not we are able to reimburse you for fuel and what the departure and return times are expected to be.

I will personally give out as much free on-board air as anyone wants however ;)

So...if we are able to cram those three vehicles we could carry about 11 women plus ourselves, so we're half way there.

I'll talk to my supervisor Monday and see if I can take half of Friday 22nd off. If so, that will be another 4 seats available. I could put a third row seating in (3 more), but it's super cramped for adults and not really worth it.

Just a thought, I was wondering if PeeZed and I could do a trial run up the trail to determine the conditions beforehand

Sweatyforehead, I'd be up for that, but I'm not sure when I could get away in the next two weeks to do it! I was up just over a month ago and it really wasn't bad. Wished I had a turbo the few times I had to gear down to 1st in high range and would've liked to stay in 2nd and power through. Also, I think the airing down will be key to the comfort of this trip.

Totally, from how you've described it, seems like it'll be a good way to showcase the pure comfort of the majestic 60 series with low pressures and lower range

Ok folks, the trip is this FRIDAY and it would be great to get a solid idea of who can make it out. So far this is what I can gather based on the comments left so far...

YES: Sweatyforehead,

MAYBE: GTSSportCoupe, Koopz, GSB15, a few others are looking outside of the Club for other vehicles but nothing confirmed as of yet.

Please let me know ASAP...but no pressure as I realize this is both a Friday event and the start of a weekend!

Hi PeeZed, I'm sorry, but I won't be able to do it. I'll be home with my kids that day while my wife is interviewing for a new job.

Had a great trip today. Weather was perfect. Thanks to Sweatyforehead for your help with this! The ladies loved the Cruisers too!

Here's a couple pics from the day too...
