That is an ambitious time frame!

My guess is that you could swap the mechanical parts in a long weekend, and the wiring is likely to take weeks.

Good luck, and let me know when you do this as I would like to watch. I have the components to do this swap, and hope to get to it in the next year or so.

Hey Andrew,

Ya I know. I'm ambitious though :)

I am going to prep the wiring. In that I mean I will install it just not connect everything before hand. Hence one of the reasons why I want to look at a 62 :)

I missed where you said that you wanted to minimize your down time in your previous post. That makes sense but seems like it would take extra time for a modification that you will be shortly ripping out. Installing the tank is not very hard or time consuming. The harness will take the most time IMHO. I think you'd better plan for a lot more down time than a weekend. Do you plan on legally converting this? When smog time comes the tech may be looking for your carb and may fail you due to the visual. Not sure though so you may want to find out.

@cruiser88 - There is only one Bob Build, this is just a sub-build. :D

I wanted to separate out the 2FE stuff so it is here for other folks and is easier to find.

@Aseif007 - Temporary could be a little while. All depends on how the parts come in. I am still trying to locate some stuff. I have already checked with the legal stuff for smog. I should be good. Don't have to worry about that till next year.

Electrical stuff is easy for me so I will just slowly wire that up. I will be installing the gas tank by myself. For the engine work I am driving down to my mom's house in the Bay Area. Her boyfriend is a super star mechanic. He is going to help pound it out. That is what I am prepping everything for.

Water pump question.

I will be using the 2F water pump. With that in mind what is the 2F tube size and what is the 3FE tube size?
I need to know what size tubes to get and what kind of adapter to get.

So I went down to Valley Hybrids today and took apart a 3FE that Georg located for me. I got the entire EFI system, unmolested harness, exhaust manifolds, exhaust headers, all 3FE accesories, head, injectors, and thermostat with all sensors. Only set me back $350. Not to shabby. Everything is in really good shape. Very clean. So I pretty much have all the parts that I need now. Just need to start cleaning everything up and start prepping for install.
