long time lurker, first time poster..
I bought a Blue fan clutch from Amazon. Aisin FCT-004. I replaced the fluid with a mix of 20k/10k, and adjusted the valve per Landtank's instructions in the FAQ. Now that I've bolted it back up, it seems easier to turn by hand, than how it originally came. Has anyone else run into this? I thought the whole idea was to add silicone oil that was more viscous than factory fluid and that in turn would make it harder to turn. Confused on if I should put the factory oil back in. If you have previous experience with this, I'd like to hear it.

Thanks!

Have you run it yet? Fluid needs a chance to disperse.

What temperature did you adjust it to?

95 degrees.
i haven't installed it. I figured I'd ask here before installing it since it caught me off guard. I wasn't expecting it to be easier to turn. Still has plenty resistance but not as much as it originally had

If I recall from when I did mine, when you fill it you are filling the reservoir. When you put the 2 half's back together the valve will stop the fluid from getting into the business side. This will only happen when you get it above 95° and the valve opens.

Makes sense. I guess I'll have to install it and find out

About 45-50ml

Just right.

So now you need to install it and let it run. The silicone fluid won't get where it needs to be until the unit opens up and centrifugal force distributes the fluid. After that, you'll be able to tell what it is (or isn't) doing.

I used straight 20K in both of mine, but I live in a hot climate.
