What would be the consequence of driving a few days with the just the center Diff locked and not yet removing the front shaft and flanges? Will something be moving/engaging that shouldn’t be?

That would mean the front shafts (CV'S) would still spin and grind , but with the center locked you would still move because half the power is still going to the rear.

Worst case, AT LEAST pull the front drive shaft in my opinion. That way at least the motor won't be turning (or trying to turn the CV axle inside the busted flange)

Pulling the driveshaft is pretty easy. Just match mark it so you put it back on in the same orientation.

I think some people have pulled the drive flanges and covered the end of the CV with like tape or plastic to keep dirt out of the bearings for a temporary fix. Pulling the hub flange is slightly harder than the shaft
