Thanks guy. Wife's grandpa passed away sooner than expected from cancer. Bummed I'm going to miss out on this, but ABQ is where I need to be.

Oh, and my Super Duty decided to throw a temper tantrum yesterday and lost power and went into a rough idle. All the symptoms of the HPOP going, but we will see what the show says.

Needless to say, not the best Monday for our household.

Atleast Willy the Whale never let's me down!

Sorry to hear about your wife's grandpa. F CANCER! Lost my dad to it almost 2 years ago.
My condolences to you and your wife's family.

The hpop wasn't too bad on the boss' s Excursion, is it a 6.0? Is so and if the egr is intact give yourself some time to get it de-gunked. My egr cooler looked great, intake and heads were full of crap. Ended up doing oil cooler and egr block upon reassembly.

Thoughts and prayers for your family.

Sorry to hear that man. I hope things turn around for the better. Make sure the truck is going to a reputable shop. A friend of mine said his truck was just started running rough. He took it to a shop and I can't remember what they said but anyway he was going to need a new engine. This guy knows nothing about cars so he called me up. He only had 80,000 on his ranger . I got him hooked up with my mechanic and he changed his plugs and wires. It was only one bad plug but he changed them all. Now instead of him having to buy a engine with 140,000 miles on it and have to pay 6,000 for the parts and labor I think he got out of it for 85$. It was a shop on Nevada and Fillmore somewhere. Not sure the name.

And Luke I saw the video with the fj cruiser. Not sure if you told me or not but I didn't see it with the rest at the top. You think he rolled over the side? We're you trying to tell me something? Lol. Some of those videos are pretty scary looking.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts. We really appreciate it.

Been taking my truck to Alan's since I bought this one. They fixed my A/C, steering box and exhaust manifold leaks, and had to replace the FICM when it went out. That was quite an experience. When the Fuel Injection Control Module went out, I was dreading that it was the EGR because of the massive amount of white smoke coming out (think seafoam). Guess when the FICM goes out, it just dumps fuel in, and billows it all out the exhaust.

No word back from them yet. Think they have a backlog of vehicles, and I just graciously dumped mine on top of that work load lol

Karas, I re-read page 1 and noticed that you started the thread and proposed this trip. I think that makes you the trip leader. What time do you want to start up the mountain? I don't plan to convoy down from COS, but will show up at the trailhead at the right time.

Does anyone have an open passenger seat? I am taking a passenger (and I can only take one) and may have a 2nd friend that wants to come along. He has ridden with me on Blanca prior and will be an asset.

I don't know about trip leader but thread starter for sure. I think I will be able to,at least take care of myself maybe. So if you guys left the springs at 6am you should be at he trail head at 9:30 maybe. Does that sound right. I plan on still going the night before and camping along the trail head so I wouldn't be part of the convoy. Where would you all like to meet? At the Safeway location? 5:45 leave at 6am?

Vic if the wife decides to stay home with the kids your passenger can ride with me.

My 2 buddies are 95% sure and I'm working on a third. If he can't, I would have a seat open in the 80. If saturday runs smoothly and the weather is clear we might consider a late day hike up Blanca, otherwise a pre-dawn start and dash back to camp to hopefully catch up with the group headed down the road. I would lean towards meeting at the trailhead or in Walsenburg or something. The safeway is a little off I-25 but not too much I guess.

Mike Rasmussen is bringing the bronco, and another friend with a rubicon. I think we might be the later party, and end up separating the group. Two groups might be a good thing anyway- I bet we will catch up though.

Vic, I think your meeting time of 6:00 AM at the pueblo McDonalds sounded pretty reasonable. I could have made that :) if anyone needs to leave later, I will try to talk to mike and see if we can nail down a time we will be rolling.

Well I just talked with the other fj cruiser and she is thinking of going down Friday night as well. If Goslow is meeting at the trail head I don't think we need a meet up time in town since it's just Ryan. How does 8:30 at the trail head sound? Then leave at 9. Do you think earlier Goslow, or is that ok? Fjess is going to talk to her buddy with the Cherokee and see what his plans are as well.

Good to hear mike is going I havn't talked to him in a long time.

I think 8:30 at the trailhead sounds reasonable. For me, that means I'll be at the Pueblo McDonalds around 6:00 AM, grab some tasty nourishing food substitutes, then get back on the road.

Thanks for the possible offers to carry an extra passenger or two. Please let me know next week if those seats are available. If so, they will ride with me to and from the trailhead in my pickup.

So are we at 8 vehicles? I will be travelling with 2 4-wheelers (his Bronco isn't quite Blanca ready yet). Looks to be quite the get together.

Who's camping up top versus turn and burn? Missus expressed desire to camp so we will be camping with 4, hopefully in one 2 room tent.

I plan on camping. The 2 from Denver May not depending on trail and how it goes. Sounds like 8 with the atv's in the first group and 3 in the second. Jess has a ham radio and I don't know a thing about it so if you want to put up a channel you would like to use Luke so we could here you coming up that would be great. I will change the meet location to Mc Donald's
In pueblo and put up a trail head time.

I'm almost ashamed to ask (but not too ashamed), will anyone besides me have a CB radio? If I'm the only one, I will leave it at home.

I have one, not sure I am ready for "ham" mentality just yet. I am hoping to reinstall it before the trip but have some other work to do that takes precedence. A lot to check over after our marathon weekend.
