My reverse switch doesn't seem to be working any more. I've bought a replacement but can't find the existing switch on the A440F trany body. Can anyone tell me where this switch is located? Is it on top of the trany? Do I get access by removing the shifter box or console box/arm rest?

Any info and or photos that would help me locate and replace this little bugger would be really appreciated.

The automatic transmission backup switch is incorporated inside the neutral safety switch. You need to replace the neutral safety switch.

I was sold a completely separate threaded in switch which is about the size of my thumb. It's shown on the attached exploded view of all drive train related switches.

That applies only to the manual transmission.

Wow. Great information. Wish that parts website differentiated between auto and manual trany parts! Thanks for the feedback. Very valuable.

I hear yah. I'm often labeled with the SOB moniker... Thanks again for the switch clarification...

I believe you need an 84540-60020. That also applies to FJ62 so it is alive in this market.

Not a cheap switch compared to the little devil I incorrectly procured...

Not cheap for sure. How much do they want for it?

I think he told me $245. The wrong switch they sent me should get me $35 towards the neutral switch...

The published list price is $257.04. Mudder cost is $192.78.

Wow. That's a noticeable drop in price... Stupid question #2. What is Mudder?
