So my bj74 oil pressure sending unit is not hooked up. The unit has the 2nd ground tab on the side. Neither have anything plugged in.

I was able to find this dark colored connection hanging but unable to fine another wire. Unsure if this is signal or ground.

Also found another unplugged pair of wires in the same loom but could be for something else.

This first wire has a light grey cover around it near the bottom.

Unplugged mystery wires maybe associated?

The single wire with connector (1st picture) looks like the connector to my oil pressure sending unit ('86 BJ70).

I do not recall seeing the 2-wire connector (2nd picture) on my truck so I am of no aid there.

Good luck

ok just confirmed through some ground tests my gauge in the cluster is not working. Time to look into an aftermarket oil pressure gauge setup.

Thanks guys

For your consideration; When I encountered this, I purchased a used cluster and transferred the gauge into my cluster. Works fine.

@LDowney thought about that as well. Maybe I’ll keep an eye out, also taking it as a sign to install something more accurate haha.

Did the gauge fail a resistivity test?

Well the needle isnt even visible on the gauge. I can see it tucked waaaay down below under the site glass. Did a ground test and no movement.

No worries though. I'm planning on adding an oil pressure gauge next to my egt and boost gauges. Looks like as long as I run a 1/8 bpt to a 1/8 npt adapter I'll be good.

I scored the used cluster from @joekatana that I got the oil pressure gauge from. He was selling his cluster inventory a while back, so he might be cleaned out. But it may still be worth checking.
