Can anyone help me solve the issues Im having with my bj74 3.4 turbo diesel mwb cruiser?
The issue is that it doesnt want to perform very well. Ive had the injector pump, injectors and turbo completely rebuilt.
The symptoms are :
As you take off the cruiser wants to take off like a greyhound with heat beads strapped to its balls but stops approx 1 - 2 seconds later . After its initial burst of energy it retires to a slug and does not perform well again until you come to a stop and take off again. This power is very intermitant, sometimes it happens and other times its just not there no matter how much peddal you give it. If you put your foot down after that initial few seconds it wont kick in again.
When it does want to power away there is a bit of black smoke and I guess its getting the fuel. Otherwise all other time theres no smoke at all.
The turbo is running 8 pound boost.
I think that it could be a fuel prob ? please help

Cheers Russ

I would be back to the shop that did the work on the pump and injectors and dump it in their lap. If you start fooling around with it ,you will be giving them a free get out of jail card.

agree with Rosco, leave it alone and take it back...not your problem, theres... unless of course the problem existed before the work was done...

I agree as well. One thing to consider possible before that is what kind of fuel are you running, is it good.

I have found lately (in US) that the quality of the diesel in my area seems to be varing alot, especially notices this with the B100 I get, but also with the regular stuff.

When I have this issue all seems to be working just not real well.

I also had a problem once with no power and lots of black smoke, called up the turbo place I got the turbo from and then told me to change my fuel filter, and sure enough that did the trick.

Cheers,

Michael
