I like the idea of a truck that lives on in the post-nuclear holocaust world

Are those skid marks from the cruiser!?!?

Wow.. 10.900$ I always thought that in australia you could get a cruiser for cheaper than Canada.. I guess I was wrong
Are they all running around that price tag?
And aside the removable top, what are the difference from a CAN spec cruiser?

And aside from the reversed steering...

That was the caryards advertised price and a little high in my opinion. You can usually talk them down.
The private sellers are cheaper. There was about 6 for sale last week priced from $4k to $10K. The normal price for a BJ70/ 73 is about $6K.

The canadian spec are all SWB BJ70 .A 73/74 series is about 10 inches longer and has a fold down windscreen. The 73/74 series body is more closely related to a 75 series cab chassis.
While the BJ70 body is more like a troopy

The AUS spec 73 /74 series have the OEM roll cage and rear lap sash seat belts for 3 passengers.
They were also available with the F motor and in 1990 were available with the 1PZ and 1HZ in small numbers here.
Generally the aussie MWB are low spec compared to the Japanese versions.

Across Australia at the moment I've found 16 SWB/MWB diesel J7x's on sale - mostly BJ73s, ranging in price from a BJ70 for AU$2,200 to a very nice BJ74 for AU$12,900 negotiable.

That one I showed is a bog standard machine, no turbo, no air, but it does look well cared for. I'm getting the local AA to do an inspection on it Monday. I'm sure the car yard would be up for a bit of negotiation on a 20 year old vehicle, however clean it may be.

Good luck with it Lowfour and if you get it we expect a full pictorial:D

Lowfour, keep looking around, I was lucky with mine, I was looking for a 60 series, which this was advertised as being. Deceased estate, lady didn't know what it was. '86 BJ74, 13-BT, 200k, one pentioner owner, $4500. Had some rust around the window, easily fixed, small dent in LH door and the rear springs have sagged but apart from that it's excellent!

Nice find BJ .
You would have to be the 1st territorian to visit this forum:D

The Aussie Cruisers are also all 12 volt to the best of my knowledge.

Check the photos of Fugly on the dealer website: one battery under the hood.
