The BJ60 fuel pick up tube was crusty. It has replaced with a new oem piece from a FJ60.

Laid down some sound dampener today. In the process I removed 25 years of dust and dirt. Its a win, win, for the cruiser; cleaner and quieter.

Surprise "Discovery"! It appears someone was too lazy to drop the tank. They cut a fat whole above where the fuel pump resides and covered it with a no parking sign. Wow! I hope the po didn't pay someone for this.

Do you think someone from Disney will see this and want the sign returned? Will you still get towed if you take away the " no parking " sign? Well at least it won't rust!

When I grow up I want to be just like Mel. Can't wait to come and see it man! It wont be until March now..gone for the month!

Looks great, no surprise after your bjt62 from a few years ago.

I would love to see details on the dash transplant. I hope to do this same 3B into a 62 swap someday and I really love the classic square dash on my BJ60. I haven't seen any threads that deal with this, though. Is it a straight bolt-in swap? What issues did you have to address?

Looks like things are moving along, did the transmission mounts give you any problems?

Yeah, the mounts took some time to separate from the bj frame. The last conversion I did had the early style crossmember. It's ears we're bolted to the frame where as these were welded/rusted in place. No big problem, just a few hours of grinding.

The dash swap is under way and it is pretty much a bolt on affair. I haven't had any issues yet and will post some pics as it progresses.

The 62 has all power amenities, where as the bj was spartanly equipped. The biggest challenge of the entire build has been adapting the pwr windows, mirrors, antenna and locks to the bj harness. It was my understanding the bj front harness would plug directly into the 62 rear harness, but it doesn't. My buds Gunnar and Frank have been helping me piece it all together, one wire at a time. Both harness are laid out side by side in the shop, and are slowly becoming one.
