Makes sense since it has a really funny rear door setup, some footman loops you can see on the body by the door hinge arrangement and some other oddities. Little scary to see some of the workmanship...

The tire carrier is on the wrong side as well as the emblems are on the wrong side and too high for oem. This is most likely a french rig that has been pieced together over the years too keep it on the road.

I'd love it if the valuation they have (70k+) is accurate! It would convince my wife that my BJ44 deserves the time and attention it gets! Ha!

All the French 46s I've seen (30-40) have the emblems on the left side and carrier on the right side, so it could definitely be French because they're all 24 v and left-hand drive with ambulance doors except for the soft tops. Whoever would pay that much has to have a lot of money to throw around or is crazy. :)

VIN shows it was the first off the line on June 1, 1981, French stamping, looks like a fiberglass softtop-to-hardtop conversion, much like the ones showing up from Colombia--may have been due to some national import regulation. Fugly ambo hinges, Euro spare location. Kansas dealer with Arizona plates, price is all over the place--has no idea what it is or its worth.

@Bear... Where do you find the build date info? I used to have a Russian site that had the month by month info but it was taken down years ago... Is love to be able to look that up again as toyodiy can't process my JDM BJ44 frame number very well and I get inaccurate build info... Thanks!

BJ46 by vin number only, the rest of it has been heavily molestered. 46 had forward facing rear seats, and the bows above the front doors show some aftermarket modification. Rear section looks like it’s fibreglass or a passionate, but shoddy attempt to mimic the original.

Isn't this the same one?

It's the same one. Somehow the value has gone up from $25k, the last selling price, to over $70k a year later. French BJ46s always came with a soft top from what I understand from French owners, so the hardtop and doors are definitely all aftermarket, not original if French.

Pretty sure I have that same fiberglass top from Columbia in the storage shed if anyone else wants to make their MWB Cruiser go up in value :)

They can't process the frame number correctly... I've tried it with a few JDM trucks and it didn't take it correctly... The russian site had a different month and if I use ToyoDIY the parts it shows are not accurate for the model it pulls up

67216 Zip Code off of the ebay listing shows South Central Wichita which includes South Broadway. South Broadway is where most of the shadiest of the shady car dealers are in Wichita. If you want to increase your odds of getting hosed buying a car in Wichita, this is the area to go to.

This area in general is not where I would be buying a car. In my former profession, South End Pinkeyes was used to describe the residents and area.
