i dont think it is possible because the lower part of the seat is very close to the wheelwell
I can lower the side wall stanchions by 1/2 inch so that the bolt hole lines up with the hard top square tube, ill get to that in October when I am back. See you guys in a month. cheers.

Today was Avery productive day. I was able to drill and press the fasteners for the windshield and steering column. The windshield took forever to line up because I wanted to be 100℅ sure before I drill the holes for the hinges. I pressed a whole bunch of the stainless rivnuts and I'm not entirely sure I'm setting the tool up right everytime, some of the rivnut compress without issue while other need every ounce of strength I can squeeze out of my hands. I started this morning at 0800 and I just finished now, I'm absolutely knackered. I was also able to drill all the mounting holes for the roll bar which I have been meaning to do for awhole now. Door hinges where also a pain but they are on and I'm waiting for my roof drip tray and sheet metal to be rough painted so that I can start jigging her back together.

I also haven't posted a pic of my restored rims, I took a picture of one of them for show and I'll post another picture of all of them when I can afford to put new rubber on her.

I'm back to work tomorrow but I am dedicating all of my next week off to working on the cruiser. It's been really slow going on the restoration but it will pick up speed now that I actually have time towork on it.

Is that paint or powder coating? Please share code if possible. Looks great.
It's powder coat, he didn't give me a code but just said it is an arctic white. yea I am very happy with how they turned out, they were pretty pitted when I got them and he coated 5 wheels for just over $300Can.

BACK AGAIN... you around, I will drop buy with the bj42...

Hi everyone, started again on the cruiser. I had a previous issue with the windshield hold downs having been jogged in the wrong position. Fabien was super quick in sending me replacements and his apologies. I got the windshield hinges drilled and riv nutted into place and then I scribed the new location for the mounts and welded them onto the dash. I also spot welded the dash pad on at the same time. Next I'll make the sear mounts and drill the dash for the cluster and heater controls.

Dash pad roughed in and it fits really well, what a relief. I think I can take the velcro off the dash for the old radar detector. Not sure why it had a detector it can't speed.

Re. Radar Detector... you don't want to be caught going below the minimum speed either:)

Not sure why I'm getting excited but now that I'm fitting the dash panels I can't help but feel happy that I'm able to work on her again. Realistically I'm still months away but nonetheless I'm feeling good to be at it again.
Also the pedal assembly was easy to remove, I was hoping it was just bolted in as an assembly otherwise it would have taken a huge amount of fab work to build the pedal mounts. So far everything is looking good. Only the dash cut out for the gauge could have been 1/8" smaller, but if I'm super careful the cluster face should cover the hole nicely.

Good Morning Peeps, I haven't done anything on the cruiser except buy rear ambulance doors out of Manitoba from a great guy named Al, and I have also been in touch with Fabian at Teseven Autobody and he has a new line of doors coming out. yes that's right complete doors and they look awesome. No price yet but they will be available for export very soon; I will update on these doors when I have more information and prices.

i also tossed out my old tub (pile of rust ridden pieces removed by hand)
and replaced with a 3/4 Aqualu, so no go on reference measurements as asked before.

Great to see it coming together, and the the pic of the run of doors from teseven = "WOW"

DeadSalt; thank you, its slow going now because I'm lacking the extra cash. This whole project has been funded by my working extra jobs, and for the moment that appears to have dried up. However, the summer relief season is coming up and as much as I hate to burn up my summer vacation so that I can sit in some engine room on some ship somewhere I have to realize that this is the only way I can keep moving forward with my resto.
My daughter is in University and it is very important that I support her financially as best as I can so that she has a great start in life, so all my available funds are going towards that at the moment.

The doors do look amazing and I am waiting for Fabian to make them available for export. Stay tuned for dates and prices.

How do you like the Aqualu tub? In hindsight I wish I would have saved my tub, maybe not for this restoration but to restore and put on a different frame. Can't have to many 40's correct? I am saving for running boards now, and I have to take some time and finish drilling my tub for all the panels. I just haven't been very motivated with it lately and I'm not sure why, all I know is when I get fired up again this project will move quickly.

Back at it again, I picked up some sheet metal from the auto body shop today with instructions left that I want the rest primered so I can start mocking up the body.
In the last two years that the parts have been sitting at their shop my tire carrier top hinge has decided to seize solid so it will get some heat and perhaps a beating with a hammer and then new primer.
My seats are going to Campbell River to Custom A Upholstery for recovering on Monday, I am also having them put in seat heaters while they are apart. I also made the seat mounts today and when hey are finished I'll powder coat them.

It's been awhile since I've felt like working on my cruiser, I'm a private guy so I didn't want to share my problems while I was dealing with some things in my life, but I am finally able to talk about them without difficulty.
My dad who was, is and always will be my best friend moved two houses down from me last March after traveling the world with my mom. We were doing some renovations and I noticed that his breathing was wheezing. Soon after that he caught Pnuemonia and upon further examination it was discovered that he had stage 3 lung cancer. He went through treatment and weathered it like a champ however the pnuemonia kept coming back harder and more frequently, his antibiotics were increased each time but after the fourth bought his pnuemonia became drug resistant and he passed away on September 12th, 2016. I lost my father, best friend and hunting partner that day. I made a promise on that day to enjoy life more, to spend more time with family and to cut down on my extra work.
So today I started on the cruiser, his cruiser, and when I took my wife out for lunch I told her I want to push ahead and get it done. She's the greatest woman a man could ask for and super supportive, she agreed to the extra cash that will have to be borrowed or made on the side. She also tried to make me promise to never ever restore another cruiser . I told her I can't make that promise because I want to do another one, perhaps a FJ45 or total custom, but I said that we will be debt free and retired before I attempt another one. I thank my followers for their patience and I promise I will speed up production from here on in.
