Thought I'd add some info on this quickly, since Rob has started the thread:
Our client had problems with two different 2LT diesels and asked what we could do for him - so we're putting in a 3B and 5 speed with Cruiser axles from the donor BJ60.
Lots still has to happen - progress on the SAS was brought to a halt since the 3B installation means that things have to be placed a little differently. The engine and trans are going in, then the SAS will be wrapped up - the axle will need a cut and turn, a high steer, and some extra beef for the what the owner has planned.
The wishlist includes:
3B
H55F with crawler gears
Turbo
Cruiser axles
SAS with C&T to custom fit it all in
ARBs front and rear
etc...
The box is a "logger box" that is made from some nice thick steel to handle the rigors of local use (and to replace the rusted out box. These can be made to order with custom features...
