And here I was thinking we were talking about motorbikes/motorcycles/dirt bikes this entire time lol. Yes, for a "bicycle" carrier the 1UP is the way to go. Good on you OP for ordering one.

Nice! I bought the 2" double with add-ons first, then within a month of use, I sold the Thule and Swagman racks we had and bought the single. They all have their good features but the 1Up is just so simple and easy to use I wanted no part of anything else.

  • Single bike rack on LC 200 but no bike mounted, rack folded, top gate opens fully, bottom gate does not open
  • Single bike rack on LC 200, bike mounted, rack folded DOWN, both gates open fully
  • Double bike rack on LC 200 but no bike mounted, rack not folded, top gate opens fully, bottom gate opens fully
  • Double bike rack on LC 200 but no bike mounted, rack folded up, top gate opens fully, bottom gate does not open
  • Double bike rack on LC 200, bikes mounted, rack folded DOWN, both gates open fully
  • Double bike rack on LC 200, single bike mounted in rearmost position and not folded, both gates open fully depending on width of handlebars and pedal position.

that is great info. Great to hear, have the double on order.

Installed the single part for now - this product is top quality + ZERO rattle!
Thanks everyone for the recommendation.

I had a kuat then a 1up. 1up is way better then kuat in pretty much every way. Worked great until we went to 4 bikes. With the 4 bike add one the 1 up is HUGE. So then I sold it and went with a north shore 4. It is the best option for hauling >2 mountain bikes and also comes with an anti rattle.

Thank you for this. I'm considering a 1Up double and wasn't quite sure if the lower tail would open with 2 bikes loaded in the drop position. You just made my life a lot easier. . .kudos to you!

Search John E Davies on the 200 forum. He had a shop make an anti rattle clamp. I bought one. Works great.
