The 200 receiver is different than most....no problem with the locking pin, but
traditional methods I've tried to span the bike rack tube into the receiver don't
seem apply.

Other than duct tape or ear plugs , what works?

Are you asking how does one take up slack/loose space inside of the receiver itself?

There are anti-rattle clamps that tighten around the receiver and the carrier, B&W makes a foam silencer insert but you have to trim it a lot and it deteriorates quickly, I've seen some that wedge inside of the receiver in conjunction with the cross-pin and I have seen people even use a quarter or nickel to take up slack. I have some very trick inserts that came with mine, by far the most usable method I have seen to date. I'll have to contact the Aussies that sold it to me and see where they sourced it because a quick internet search isn't producing anything.

The clamps I have used in the past on other SUVs do not span the angle required because of the way
Toyota configured the housing that surrounds the receiver inlet.

Maybe look over the selection from etrailer?

There is at least 1 other thread on this detailing shims and other methods that work.

I use one of these with good results. It slips in to a hitch extension for our JKUR. Not sure if it will fit in your bike rack or not but it's worth a shot

Amazon product ASIN B001EOWR3Y

Another option is to get a 1Up rack. No hitch pin required and zero rattle.

Here is a pic of the inserts that came with my carrier. Laser cut it appears. The notched one fits on the side for use with the hitch pin and the solid one works on the top or bottom but in theory would require the use of a hitch clamp to secure it if it were loose. I have only have ever used the side insert and there was absolutely no movement at all from the carrier and that's on a 2 hour one way drive with speeds up to 75mph.

I measured them with the calipers, they are about 2mm thick.

1UP USA and forget it! Love mine.

Otherwise toilet bowl shims would work but would suck to remove and install.

Thanks all....

I'll check 1UPUSA it looks good

Additionally -

On The KUAT NV 2.0....does it require any extension to enable tilting back to clear our 200's tailgate when down
or is it plug and play?

It has a foot pedal that allows it to tilt back for tailgate access. My daughter is a mountain bike racer and we have been all over the US with our Kuat on various vehicles. I have also owned a 1UP in the past. Either is an excellent choice.

How many bikes do you normally carry? I have the 2" single, the 2" double, and two add-ons from 1up. I prefer the single place as it's lighter and easier to handle but it's maxed out at 3 bikes. On my 100 series LC, I can still open the upper hatch with the two place folded up which is really nice. Right now I have the single on the LC and when it's in its normal position, I can open the lower hatch and the rack doesn't protrude much past the hatch. If that makes sense.

⬆︎ Normally only 1 full suspension mtn bike, but just in case would like the add on for another.

Which model 1UP and factory direct buy or is there a distributor to get a better price?

This video sold me:

I am currently in the process of getting a 1up, so happy to hear it endorsed here. Only way is to order direct ^^^

Direct is the only way to purchase them and there is not discounts unfortunately. The only discount is free shipping if over $500, so you may want to get the add-on now. I would also get a couple extra screws for securing the add-on. I keep the screws in place even if the add-on isn't installed. Also, I wouldn't worry about the EZ Pull handle. In theory it's a great idea, but in practice, it really isn't necessary. It would be nice when I have it set up with 4 bikes but even then, that's a lot of weight to pick up for one person with a bike in your face.

Ordered - Done deal....Thanks everyone for the "hands on" experience!
