Off the top of my head the weekend of the 10th sounds good and definitely in for camping. I am long overdue. At least I know that I won't blow my HG. :D

let me talk to the boss... she will be back from texas tomarrow... we may even drag the trailer up there.. I dont know at 3.30$ a gallon for diesel...

Doh

forgot, that is the weekend right after the baja 500, i will still be catching up on stuff i miss being in baja for a week

how about the weekend of june 17th?

this is fun huh? :D

17th is good with me Kevin.

Great!

Who else?

Arrive Friday the 16th in the PM and return Sunday the 18th in the afternoon!

Cool?

Who wants to volunteer for logisitcs? Ie. where to camp, trails to run, etc...

I can say a tenative yes to that date. I don't have any plans now but I may have an unavoidable interference. I would say chances are good I can make it. I don't mind working on the logistics but I am all a**holes and elbows working on my HG replacement now so it would be a little while before I could get started. If someone else wants it feel free if not I can take it. :flipoff2:

June 16-18 sounds good to me.

This morning I sent a paypal to Mangler for his barely used OME heavies (thanks again, Kevin), we'll slap them on in the morning and I'll round it out with Billsteins and TrXus MT's when my tax refund arrives.
:bounce2: :bounce2: :bounce2:
I'll be Jones'n for a test run by then. Maybe we can get a day run going in May as well.

Mo, sorry to hear about your HG. How did it happen, any warning? Did it warp the head, and/or are you having it machined for a little more pep? This subject has made me quite paranoid, as my LX now has over 123K on it.

This experience will now make you an expert on HG's in SoCal, so check your schedule and let us know when we can do a HGPM party.:flipoff2:

I think we should make June "Head Gasket Awareness Month." We can sell ribbons and rubber arm bands to help finance our repair costs.:hillbilly

Actually I was quite lucky and I caught it within about 10 minutes and the truck never overheated. I was flushing the cooling system when it went. I decided there was too many bubbles coming out of the radiator neck, then I leaned around to see steam coming out of the tailpipe mid day. I said "No please" and checked the oil....

Tada, chocholate milk! On a positive note I caught it before any damage and I didn't even have to have it towed. Just pulled it into the garage and started ordering parts. Pisser is that I had just put in fresh Mobil 1 the week before. I had the head completely overhauled. Milled, valves etc. I also redid about everything I removed and some stuff that I didn't. I don't think I will have to do anything but fluid maintenance for the next 150k or so. ;p I should have it done by Mon. :bounce: :bounce2:

If anybody wants to tackle their HG I would be happy to pass along tips info or generally heckle them while they work and I enjoy a step 6. :D

Man, if it's going to happen, I want it to happen like that. And I think that when I need a HG, I'd be happy to supply the  for your heckling/knowledge on the subject.

BTW, I hope to have some pics of the newly-installed heavies lift soon. It looks funny with stock tires.

I would seriously be willing to help on whatever level I can to make it easier. I have to admit if my HG had to go it could not have been much more convenient short of me having all the parts ready and waiting which is a little impractical, ie $$$$.

Don't sweat the heavies/stock tires issue. Mine has that exact combo and it isn't too ridiculous. I am eager for them to wear out though.

Dig the avatar, it is totally you. :D
