That's the one. I am horrible at remembering names of places. I have a photographic memory. I go once and I can return by sight but ask directions...

Do it! Is anyone wanting to come up Friday evening or are we all just talking about meeting for breakfast and camping Saturday. Later would probably be just fine - avoiding the nasty Friday evening traffic.

Breakfast on Saturday works for me. We wouldn't get up there until about 8pm on Friday, and I hate setting up camp in the dark.

Cathy and I just got back from a week up north. Took the Gray crusier even got 14.5 mpg on the way back !!!!

Looks like we are all staying in Hanna Flat?? We have a travel trailer and looking at the reservations page online it will fit at Hanna flat. Whoever makes reservations first, let me know and I will reserve one near it.

Taking all three kids (4 1/2, 2 1/2 and 1 1/2,) So we will probibly go up there on Friday morning, and come back on Sunday at Nap time....

Since we are taking the kids I will load the Dodge with some kids play stuff, chairs, BBQ, and anything else anyone wants me to throw in??

Good deal, Ray, my daughter's looking forward to seeing her friends again.:D

Are we reserving separately or is Kevin trying for a group spot. Loosing track here.

If you want pick a spot, long as I can reserve the one next to you and it will hold a trailer I will reserve it, that way we can all be in the same area...

Maybe we need to ask Boydmick what spots are good??

actually, just checked availability, it appears that they require a reservation for BOTH nights and wont do ONE night reservations and ALL sites have a maximum car limit of ONE!

WTF??

Any ideas on a "Group Site Somewhere"??

I was afraid of that. Heaven forbid they miss out on a buck or two. :flipoff2: them, without the smiley face. What about Crab Flats. Same general area and the last time I stayed there (long time ago) we were a large group of 4Runners and about 30 people, all stayed together and I don't believe we had to pay anything. I don't think it has amenities though. I will see what I can find and post back ASAP.

Kevin, almost forgot, I am out on the 500. Foot surgery 1 week before. If I can heal fast I might make big bear.

Sorry about your foot mo!

Let us know what you find out for a good group spot. The :princess: at least needs a decent crapper, it doesnt even need to flush! :D

I am looking as we speak Kevin. You should buy her the book "How to S*!t in The Woods" I forget the author but it is a real book. :D

juniper springs has a cool group campground and is surrounded by good trails

Ok found some info on Crab Flats. It has some facilities in vault toilets and piped in H2O and many trails access from the campground. I know you can access the John Bull trail from there among others. States rough dirt road but I have personally seen a 34 foot 5th wheel trailer with a Jeep inside make it without problem. Some sites say reservations can be made and others say it is first come first serve. Just an update I will keep looking.

Check this link and tell me what you think:

http://www.reserveusa.com/jsp/commonpage.jsp?goto=/nrrs/ca/crab/newindex.html

As of right now sites 1,2,3 then 7 thru 13 are available for Saturday, 15 dollars a night, 8 people and two vehicles per site. Thru the site above.

I will bring the Tricycle and trailer... ..... and its rated for over 300lbs...as you can tell.... the only problem is it dosent wheel real well to much rear end weight and front wheel drive.....

Trailer sits high, and the truck is lifted and locked so that isn't a probem, but with kids we need somewhere flat and somewhat clean, we may want to have someone do a precheck(with their wife) , if we do this right the next time it wont be as hard to convince them,

As for the facilities we are only talking one day the trailer has a big enough black water tank for 4 people for a week, one day and a few wives and kids shouldn't be a problem,

Thanks for the input, will check that out.

EDIT: I could only find info on a Juniper Springs campground in Ocala Florida.

Ray, I have stayed there and the Holcom Creek trail goes right out of the campground. Even if we hit the pavement and trail it back we are no more than 15-20 minutes max to being back on the dirt. Check this site below for a trail map of the area.

I have a Rick Russell map in my hand and it is pretty good if you want to get one at http://www.sidekickoffroad.com/

Mo

Kevin I can't make any reservations as I won't know untill just before if I can even make it. I will be solo if I do.

Site 70 was at Hanna flats, not crab flats,

I dont think it matters the nice part about crab flats from what I saw was they dont charge for the second vehicle, can do one day reservations and 5$ cheaper per day, odd spaces are on one side and even on the other... so 7 and 9 would work... I will reserve 7.. if you want to get 9...

ITS DONE!

I just reserved site # 9 @ Crab Flats Guys!!!

Here is the link: http://www.reserveusa.com/jsp/commonpage.jsp?goto=/nrrs/ca/crab/newindex.html

The check in time wasnt until 2pm on Saturday so i went ahead and booked it for 2 nights so i can check in and setup first thing Saturday AM. I figure the extra $20 was ok for the convience! :D

Ok, i got site # 9, who else is going to get sites?

Info On The Campground (I like the # 5 in bold!!!):

Maximum 2 vehicles per site, depending on spur length.
The camping fee includes entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle.
No extra vehicles are allowed, (two vehicles allowed max).
Site access is difficult (dirt).
This campground is a staging area for Off-Road vehicles.
Gas, jellied petroleum and pressurized liquid fuel stoves are allowed in campgrounds.
Campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed, check with the San Bernardino National Forest at 909-382-2600
