As we all know these vehicles are an acquired taste and most dealers are scared to take them in on trade or low ball. Any suggestions on the best way to get a fair price for selling a '17 Series 200? Classifieds on this site does not have a 200 series section.

Try Vroom.com, you can do it while sitting at home and they give you an offer valid for 7 days.
They gave me a great price for my Porsche Macan S. Almost 4K more than Carmax or any other dealer in the area.

Kbb and Autotrader have options to get a price from a local dealer. We looked at this option for our 4runner and the offers were surprisingly good. Worth checking.

With sales tax approaching (or at) 10% in King County, WA.....let's say your 200 is worth mid $60K that's
about $6500 in tax credit on another vehicle. If the sales tax on a new (or old) one is less than your credit, you lose some
but still......

Private or outright sale to a dealer and that credit is history.

In MO, we get a credit when selling to a third-party too. I was thinking of getting my wife a 200, may do that before I move to Washington.

Depends on your county in WA....but 1 year license plates on a new/newer LC in Seattle area $300-400

No State income tax though........

Auto sales tax in King county is 10.4%, Im aware of the tax credit. Trade bids on this thing are all over the place. From a low of $53K, laughable, to $72K which was not bad but little discount on new purchase its all in the difference in my opinion between the two, looks like normal trade value on it about $65K, when buying something new at invoice. I guess it is what it is.

Yikes!

Many years in Seattle (Magnolia) now in Jefferson county - last year on my 2015 $150

I came from a 2016 X5M and a 2017 TRD Pro 4Runner going back to a 2018 X5M. Got this becasue i needed something bigger to haul people and gear and it was a dual purpose 2 birds one stone thing, I dont need that anymore plus miss the X5 terribly. This is a great rig just way overkill for my needs today

Makes sense. My dad has a X6M and they are beautiful machines!! Good luck with the new ride. Are you doing the factory delivery?

No unfortunately South Caroline back to Seattle is a bit far but would love to someday.
If you ever get the opportunity, do it, it is fantastic. The tour + stay + on track. I did it with my dad on his X6M delivery. Similar to you, and unlike me, he didn't want to do the cross country drive back. So I had Horseless Carriage ship it back for him (he's up in Whidbey Island).

Again, good luck on the sale and purchase of the new BMW.

PM me what you're looking to get for it. I'd consider trading up.
