Fixed! hat happened was that I burned the relay trying to start the truck when the Air Flow Meter went bad, I thought that the ignition switch was bad. It wasn't the switch, it was the relay. replaced the relay with an Ford OEM, and back to normal.I'm using a Ford starter relay on mine, I wired mine to the 2 large posts, has to be careful, the truck will start in any gear! If someone knows which cables to connect under the dash, let me know please.

A buzzer's not really necessary on an 80, is it? My headlights shut themselves off when I take the key out of the ignition.
Guess it's just another one of those upgrades that the FZJ got over the FJ80...

Mine as well (shut off auto), never been an issue.
a set of pioneer speaker upgrades. $100 for the set front and rear doors. Fit behind the stock speaker grills, with a bit of modifications.

Pulled a hazard switch from scrapyard, pin 7, removed running boards and mud flaps, and still haven't spent a penny. I will spend first $100 on replacing blown speakers.
Added a LED equipped factory dome light to the rear hatch.
Replaced the festoon bulbs with LEDs on both interior lights, about $8 apiece.
this is a excellent thread.. keep it alive with more mods coming! 
Can still do a tank of fuel for under $100. Does that still count as a mod????
3 way ty for me 1st HIR bulbs ($70some) to replace crappy factory lamps, 2nd super bright led reverse lights also replacing crappy factory bulbs ($70), and 3rd $50 worth of primer and black paint to cover the flaking/coroded factory wheels (all 5).

For me it still has to be extending the fob distance. It cost me about $10 when all said and done. I can lock and unlock my doors from well over 100 feet away. At the time I did this mod my little 
was two and it really made my life so much easier.
I think about and thank (in my head) Ebag333 almost evertime I hit my fob! The reason this mod cost me any money is that I went to radio shack and bought a flat lead FM antenna...
