A little bit of history here fellas. Hope you like it and let me know what you think.

Just because you asked, I would not get caught dead with that sticker on my cruiser. :D

Nobody calls any Toyotas "Toyoda" and nobody also uses/sees those characters to express Toyota. Besides, the "DA" character appears to be smaller than the "TOYO" character. :flipoff2: ;)

But I guess if you (as in peole) don't understand what those characters say you might think it's

YMMV!

P.S. You still have a nice troopy though, despite that sticker! :D

Could you explain this more? I have seen parts with " t-o-y-o-d-a" on them and just assumed that was the original term and it could be translated either way into english...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Toyo"da" is not authentic or anything.

I'm just saying that as long as I can remember it has always been Toyo"ta".
My folks used to drive only Toyota's and I don't recally them ever calling those vehicles Toyoda, but Toyota. It just sounds "natural" to me.

The founder's last name is Toyo"da" and we still call him that.
And it has been well documented here on Mud why it changed from "da" to "ta". So in the beginning it was "da", but it changed a little while later (Before my time). Hence it just doesn't natural/correct to me. :hillbilly:

You know, the "TEQ" characters that are used in the old symbol are still used today by Toyota (Not the TEQ mark itself though): トヨタ FWWW!

And again, YMMV!!

I think I should have just said "It's not my cup of tea, but it looks nice!!" (And it does!)

Mot

So I guess you won't be buying one. I think it looks great on my troopie it looks like it belongs there like it just came out of the factory along with a few sewing machines. Oh it's not a sticker it's a plaque made out of aluminum just like your vin plate on your cruiser, some expert???????

I believe the name was changed because of perceived bad luck of having the company and family name the same. That said, "Toyoda" has appeared on parts in Mini trucks as recently as the early 90's. Although I can't say just why that is...

Now this guy is an expert, cause he has the right info on the subject...

not quite there as you are Jim...your still very much the master...i am only full of useless knowledge...can't even use it on Jeopardy :D

I'm still grasshopper

...and is willing to share this with us amatures

I'm just applying Principle #1 :D

1. Always be faithful to your duties, thereby contributing to the Company and to the overall good.
2. Always be studious and creative, striving to stay ahead of the times.
3. Always be practical and avoid frivolousness.
4. Always strive to build a homelike atmosphere at work that is warm and friendly.
5. Always have respect for God, and remember to be grateful at all times.

Are those Toyoda employee rules from the handbook?.....:hhmm:

I like the plaque, it adds to the unique look of that particular Troopies body.:)

Are those Toyoda employee rules from the handbook?.....:)

They are the "Five Main Principles of Toyoda" established on October 30th, 1935, at the 5th anniversary of Sakichi's death.

The principles are still applied to the functions of the Toyota Group and are the guideline of Toyotas policies, activities, management and staff to this day.

sorry Hijack over :)

Almost over:o

So, one could say they are the five commandments.......;)
