    Joel: I'm thinking I have a brain wiring disconnect w/r to the BCN. Not sure why/where i drift from the user path (pun intended), but I frustratingly do. Might be the number of switches (options) as I have somewhat similar issues with my core settings on my note 4. Must be my ADD.

    Okay, I think I've narrowed it down to a cheap ruggedized Android set up just for navigation and Giai. Any recommendations on what cheap phone to get?

    I'd get a used flagship phone. Galaxy S5 or equivalent. The processing power of the flagship phones is better than the new cheap phones. I run a tablet that does navigation, Pandora, a dash cam, and the torque OBD interface. It works well but will get replaced by my current Moto z when I upgrade as the processing power and gps are sometimes lacking.
