Can anyone comment on how the 80 booster is with all other components stock fj62 parts. I heard from others that they will be somewhat squishy when just swapping boosters. I ran into an issue and I think my master may have gone out to. Would a master cylinder from an 80, a booster from an 80, and the calipers stock be a good option? Can anyone speak from having done this? Please. Anyone with advice on how to get my brakes going again.

An 80's MC will decrease your braking pressure at the pads. So will the 4Runner MC. Stick with the 60 series. There have been a couple of definitive threads showing the math.

I haven't seen conclusive threads comparing the boosters. I think it's likely that a newer model booster, intended for a MC with a larger piston, would have been been spec'd to produce more boost.

You are also likely safe if you replace your whole system at once (booster, MC, and calipers) with all one model of vehicle.

Bumping this thread a bit. Im looking for a good booster/master combo to use with 4 Wilwood dynalite 4 piston calipers for my rig. FJ60/62 boosters are becoming rare, anyone else using a 95 4runner booster with success?

Personally, I would go with the early 1993-1994 MC and booster if you want to keep it stock.

It ain't gonna be cheap but it will be Toyota all the way.

I used a 4 Runner booster (I'm afraid I can't remember which series). It mounts upside down but otherwise fits perfectly. Since it is upside down you'll need longer hoses to connect to it.

The booster from the 62 is the same as that of a 60 ... Que no ???
It should work on your 62 as well.....
