I’d like to add this thought. Yes, take a class and continued training etc. You or a loved one may need it at some point. Having special items on/ in a kit could be used by someone else who has that training.
I have that Adventure Med lit. It's a pretty good basic kit. Like said, if you don't know how to use the stuff it won't do you much good. For hikes/backpacking I carry a ziplock with pretty much the bare minimal items, bandaids, moleskin, burn cream, ointment, maybe some butterfly strips.

Some first aid training is a great idea. I was a wilderness patroller/EMT for several years in a past life...

What I’ve found is usually overlooked in most kits, is a high quality hand lens (Bausch & Lomb Hastings Triplet 10x), a high quality pair of fine point tweezers (these can be real money), Steri-Strips, Dermabond (or Vetbond), a skin stapler, moleskin, & Imodium. When I’m diving I also carry instant heat packs & vinegar condiment packages, for jelly fish stings.

^^^ vetbond for the win!!!!
