getting the last of my ducks in a row for the service...... just a few questions on the small details
#1. I was thinking of replacing the breather and maybe extending it to the engine compartment while im down there to make sure i do what i can to prevent a clogged breather in the future, does anyone know the part number or source for the screw in extension that goes on the housing to place tubing on and move the breather, i did this for about 6 bucks an axle years back so i was hoping to source the parts from other places
#2 does any brand or type of cv grease perform better than the others or is worth mentioning in the knuckles, if no brand in particular i guess ill just go to napa and get whatever they have but if something out there is better i would like to use it since i want to do this right. I wish toyota sold axle cv grease for this, i remember about a decade ago the tacoma cv grease that comes on the trucks was thought to be greatly better than any aftermarket product.
also how much is needed if anyone remembers, the stuff is usually cheaper in the bigger containers but i dont need any after this and working out of a storage unit i have no storage space for a drum/tub of it
#3 Also where did most people get the scale tool and how much did they pay, front range has a tool for ten bucks which i figure is about what they would cost if i found it at napa or somewhere if i could get them to realize what i was talking about
looking for best place to get both fittings, figure i can source the rest at a napa
is this worth getting from them?
side note that cruiser outfitters was great to deal with thanks for the recommendation everyone
