Maybe coz you don't need to go much faster than you really need in a step .. proper controling your gas allow you cral slow and prevent breakage.

I have not broken a single birfield since I got the crawler box. I think the control you have and the fact that you do not have to power up the motor as much to get the truck moving makes a big difference.
The other issue is the litle 8mm studs and dowel pins. I can not keep them from not loosening up or breaking. On UA we checked them every day and every day they were loose. At the end of the even, all the dowel pins were broke.
They hub need to be drilled out to take 10mm studs and dowel pins from the 100 series. Also need to ream the drive flanges.
Screw the better crawl ratio I want to drive it too where I want to wheel it,use it, and to see the looks on peoples faces,
