I went for the OReilly battery for that exact reason. If something happens there will likely be somewhere close by to swap it out.

Im leaning towards the Oriellys battery for the reason you guys have already mentioned, alot easier to buy and get replaced if needed. they are also 60 dollars cheaper than the die hards.

Replaced quit a few Optima RT`s with em haven`t had a bad one yet & like ya say much easier to replace if need B than RT`s cause not all store that sell Optima are authorized stores so unless it is the store ya bought it at will play hell getting it done:bang:
been there tried that:mad:

I went into some serious detail in a PM and a battery thread somewhere recently but I'll give you the short version of my opinion here...

AGM for sure (I think you've already decided this though).
Sears Platinum I've heard good things about, however, I went with the Auto Zone battery simply for availability reasons (any common parts store would work). Case and point is this: If you're at an event and you end up killing a battery, what are the odds that there's a Sears nearby your wheeling spot compared to there being an Auto Zone, Advance, O'Reilly, Napa, etc? The ease of getting one replaced anywhere I am in the country was my #1 reason for NOT going with a Sears battery.

yea...one of the reasons I have the autozone gold top stuff...it may not be the best but I can or should be able to find an autozone somewhere in the area.

Excellent point that I had never thought about. You have officially enlightened me on this matter. Definitely will play into the thought process when I am in this boat.

Been running an interstate in my 40 for about 2 years now. Been a great battery.

I'm not a autozone fan but one point to consider is that they track their warranty / receipts by your phone number....so you don't need the paper copy to prove ownership or establish warranty coverage...they simply look your phone number up in their database.....in any store. I generally deal with NAPA, but when you are out of town.....that becomes a problem...say for example your battery or other item covered under NAPA fails...and you don't have a paper trail with you.

Things to consider....
