What Drew said. We go through AA's like crazy using wireless microphones. I go there twice a year and buy a box/case of everything. AAA, AA, C, D & 9V for the house (kids, smoke detectors). I think I end up with about 100 batteries in total for about 70.00. These are DURACELL PROCELL batteries. (Alkaline).
They also carry the Kipor line of generators, look like a good product.

OK, now that it's not 2:00am I realized that it's not Batteryworld that I was referring to but Polar Battery. They too are on Boundary, but on the other side of the road more North. Just past where Husky Equipment used to be (for you old timers).

The second video shows a pack that consists of 4 "D" size batteries with spacers underneath them. These are good for those long flashlights carried by security guards.

Are they a good place to source truck batteries as well?

Polar Batteries is really good for truck batteries, and the club has a discount there. (Atleast they still did 5 or so years ago when I bought my last batteries there)
Cheers,

Thanks for the tips. It looks like one of my truck batteries is beginning to weep showing that the other is on its way out. Guess I should actually put a tester on them and see what the voltage is on each. Just one more thing to buy - a discount will help. BTW Deny, which batteries did you buy from them?

As Deny says, they carry a full line of auto batteries, including Optima. i don't think they push Optimas though.

Everything on it is 24V - from two 12V batteries in series. AFAIK, only the Japanese branded Safaris and the Trolls sold in Europe were 24V.

With one weeping, I am assuming that the other is not accepting a full charge and causing an over charge - hence the weeping battery. But like I said, I haven't confirmed that with the tester. I have also been thinking about options like buying a 24V Tractor or Aviation battery for one tray and putting a 12V battery in the other tray with the appropriate electronics in between the two. I am not really keen on having a 3rd battery in the cab and there really is no room in the engine bay. Maybe one of those gel ones would work okay in the cab.

When the time comes, I will definitely drop by Polar Battery.

I have the Globelites (I'm not sure they are called that, but that is what norm said in his Gel Teck thread) I bought them 7 years ago, after I burnt my first pair due to overcharging issues. First 5 years the truck was Daily driver and weekend warrior, last two it is now just a half year weekend warrior and sits all winter (I just disconnect them over the winter, but they sit outside in -40) I am pretty hard on the truck (with lots of hard winching), so I am very happy with them, and will be buying them for any of my trucks. A few years ago for my other BJ42 I got some Globlites off of Norm for some beer and chips, and he said he had one hooked up for 7 years, the other was essentually new for 7 years, they have now been in my spare truck with mostly sitting time minor driving, and the odd pasonate start up cause I feel sorry for the poor truck, and it always starts first time, and I have never disconected the batteries (it sat through the winter up here for the first time last year)
Man it sounds like I want to marry these batteries:D All I can say is they have always been there for me after many years of hard use.
Cheers,
Deny

They aren't that old, Deny. I did have one in my truck for 7 years - then it pooched. I replaced it with another of the same, and bought a second at the same time, though I never got around to hooking it up. I doubt the one I DID use was in the truck more than a year old or so. (though that was a while ago, I could be getting a little fuzzy...)
I only swapped them out 'cuz I got a great deal on a pair of Optima Red Top blems, which are still in the 70 and working great.

If you don't care about having AGM type batteries, those Globelites kick ass, and they're cheap.

GG, you're right about Polar not pushing Optimas. The guy went out of his way to steer me away from a Yellow Top when I inquired about an in-cab deep cycle, even though the YT was more expensive. They do sell 'em though.
