Did you finish by using a bottoming tap or grind the end of a standard tap to cut the threads deep enough without hitting the bottom of the vein?

@Broski it looks like your second line is tapped through the top of the box as well. I think this is my plan.
I’m not that fancy, I jut drilled as deep as I was comfortable and tapped it. It was a “maybe we’ll have an issue, maybe we won’t” kind of project. So far, we haven’t had an issue

Yes
I have done two hydro installs. Both boxes were drilled and taped in the same places
One by Redhead and one by west Texas off road.
Fully documented in my build thread.

Feel free to PM me with questions 😎
I won’t be of much help with the drill and tap other then location.

Hi all. Im in the process of installing the Solve Function hydro assist on my RHD 80. Using the 1" ram. I have a few questions, Im a total newb for this type of project.
What size high pressure lines do I run from the ram to the box? @Outsane solve function mention 5/16" from trail gear.
But I also see ( @Broski using 3/8" hose. Which size am I after and why the difference?

Are these the correct type of fittings?
#6 JIC fittings for RAM side:
1x inline
1x 90 degree

steering box side:
#6 JIC fittings
1x 90 degree
1x 45 degree

I've read some where about the flow from the steering box, Am I getting this right:
"For hose orientation for the steering box Is the statement still correct for a right hand drive vehicle “ Line from the Top of the box should be connected to the ram port that is closest to the differential and line from the “TOYODA” goes to the wheel side of the ram.”"

Or is it the opposite for my RHD?

Thanks all
