Thx @Tachycardic I went to Atlantic toyota as it's only 2 exits on sunrise for me 
I'm not done with the paint yet...hope it can get even better? Have yet to experiment with the ceramic max stuff

I got out and closed it...hood latch got stuck...after I hit it thIs afternoon w PB...drove home around the corner...phew!

Nice! Great area! Used to go to Captree, charter a boat, and fish with my dad on the Great South Bay.
BTW, did you get a new rocker? I think Mid-Island Auto Wreckers in Riverhead may have one... Search Inventory :: Mid Island Auto Wreckers | Deer Park & Riverhead NY

I don't think the hood latch is a common problem on the 80. Post pics!

That pesky hood latch!
The lock has been stuck since I bought it, anytime I close the hood I have to manually move it into position,.,.pb going to work...
But it was the hood RELEASE latch today my friends... I s'pose at least
I'm over it but will report the fix...here's some more stuff of what I'm up to
Got a couple good bulbs, the low beam amber up front, and one for the ash tray, I hope I can get that working would be so cool and actually really functional for me
Yes I have to climb in thru the back and open the hatch from the inside like a FOOL,.,.,well NOT Anymore!...of course I bungled the most important job at present time to me,.,.how? Didnt get the bolts! I'm the best right? The best at being the worst lol
Anyhoo I'll post a pic of the non JIS bolts i found in a lil set i had...any comments welcome
Also I haven't decided the exact recipe for the front grill...but I'll tell u what...under that tape...its so beautiful man...I'm tellin ya

Did it fly all the way up and block your view or just pop up to hit the secondary latch?

I've got comprehensive and some frills (full glass) but no collision...but damage under the physical damage provisions only go as far as to cover collisions and acts of nature/god fire theft vandalism. When the time comes,.,. Hoodnis cheap I'll save it for something big
U know the hood seems fine...I wonder if somehow the struts got shot...they absorbed that hood flying up so...glass is fine too,.,. I'm a lucky boy

Just finished the rear hatch handle whew! Feels so good to open that hatch the way it's meant to be used, and what a peice it is. Guys we have a split tailgate....!!!!

maintenance should include lubing ALL door/hood/tailgate/- latches/hinges/locks/handles/cylinders/etc. regularly. at least once a year.
