Nothing I can personally recommend, but do a search here. There is a couple of really extensive threads, that
have some really good ideas.
I am lucky, where I live its just not as high a risk factor. Not to mention, the canine security at my house.

I really like the idea of the old school dimmer switch cut off.
My personal favourite is the fuel shut off, with a slight reserve. What happens they drive about 300 yds and run out
of gas. This usually results in immediate abandonment cause now they are exposed.

I read somewhere on here about toothpaste helping remove scratches and so yesterday I tested that theory. I wish I had taken before/after photos but I'm still getting used to this blogging about my truck business.

The area I was focused on was around the keylock and underneath the exterior door handles. IT WORKED. Not sure if it's all color 60s but my white showed its age in this area, lots of hair line scratches. They're GONE.

The photo is before and you can't really tell but I wanted to show the area I'm talking about.

Also, I used Crest 3D White, not sure if that matters or not, haha.

Nice tip about the Crest 3D

Howdy! It's been a minute but thought I'd say hi. I've done some work since last posting:
- new water pump
- new shoes (33x10.5 BFG AT) - which has improved the ride tremendously!

I have a one question for the pros out there; looking into new suspension, I have a long range tank in the rear, would it be smart to go with Heavy/Heavy OME? I will most likely be adding a roof top tent soon too.

Which by the way everyone should check out Denver Outfitters ($2k RTT) I haven't tried them yet but looks very promising.

Thanks in advance for any tips regarding suspension!

Looks great! I went with heavy/heavy OME Dakar deluxe from Cruiser Outfitters and I'm happy with it. I first considered heavy/medium or medium/medium, but the cost and hassle with install made me reconsider, as well as figuring I'd be adding bumpers/winch/RTT, etc.

I've only had it on a week but big improvements in handling. I do have 300 lbs in sandbags over the rear since I don't have any other weight right now, and the ride is fine. I got my 4Plus bumper and winch on right away in front. No sag or lean anywhere.

I should have pulled the trigger faster on the suspension so I could enjoy the truck more. I'm taking it wheeling at Joshua Tree this weekend, for the first time with the new suspension! Can't wait!

Good luck!!!

Call and talk to Kurt @cruiseroutfit and he can give you all the information you need with your current setup and possible future additions (like the 4plus and RTT).

Alright, hope everyone is doing well. I'm going to throw out a quadruple. Thanks in advance for your help!

1. Anyone else get a rather loud drivers-side noise when above 50mph on the highway? I typically ride with the window down but it's been so cold lately I have to keep them up. Noise is slightly bothersome but not the end of the world.

2. Carpet on drivers door floor getting wet. It's been raining a lot here and it seems to be getting in somehow. I've tried running the hose to see if I can find it but no luck.

3. I'm still getting the CEL codes 25/26 but here's what's odd, after I reset, they won't come back on until I go over something bumpy? I've looked at both 02 sensors and they're connected. This is a stumper.

4. I'm going to be putting new suspension on very soon (I hope) but in the mean time, since I've put 33s on, I'm getting this woosh-woosh noise while driving. Sounds like it's coming from the rear... it doesn't appear that they're rubbing. Any ideas what this could be from?

Again, thanks to all those who take the time to try and help!

Water is most likely your rain gutters that run at the top of the roof where the seal the seam. The sealant is likely old and cracked and water is making its way in there. You will need to remove the old sealant and re-seal them.

Tire Carrier

If you're looking for a tire carrier solution and don't want to go all-in on a bumper, I highly recommend Mark from Detours Off-Road Hardware

I feel compelled to share this product, mainly because working with Mark was a pleasure. He custom makes each carrier specific to the truck. It takes some time but then it's easy to install and not too difficult to remove. I don't always have it on because when I'm in town, I know I can easily access AAA and it's a tad annoying to have to fold it down to use the tailgate each time.

You're my 62 twin. Looks really good!

@dahlmaker Thanks! I did have a hitch installed. My tire was previously in the bolted down in the rear inside the truck, because of the extended gas tank where the normal tire carrier would be. So it took up a lot of space and seemed a bit dangerous.
