Probably me getting all worked up over nothing, but...

I'm the proud owner of a '90 v6 4runner with 308k original miles. Second owner, and the thing has been running strong so far. Burns and leaks a little oil, but no biggie as long as I remember to put a quart in occasionally.
Recently noticed that one of the CV boots has a hole in it, and the entire suspension assembly on that side is coated in oil. While I was down there I noticed a few other small leaks along the axle assembly and rear of the engine.
Now, my question is how big of an issue is this. I don't ever wheel it, its my DD so it sticks to pavement for the most part. In a couple weeks i'm supposed to be driving from Portland to Seattle for a convention and i'm worried that something might break (Actually, my overbearing and pessimistic father is worried... but yeah...)
So am I getting worked up over nothing, and how much of a hassle is this to do yourself?

Well, it just depends on whats leaking... Search "CV Boot Replacement" and read up on there, as for the oil leaks... Its a matter of time/tools and the cost of parts... Not much more we can give you without being told what exactly is leaking

Take off the ADD drive plates on the front wheels, install manual AISIN hubs, leave them unlocked. This will leave the CVs so they aren't spinning all the time. Fix the leaks as you have time.

x2 with klf. but that leaking cv boot in wv will cause you to fail inspection. also not that big of a deal but it could eventually come apart causing you delays on the road. i do not think it would be a safety issue.

Make sure the diff is full of oil, make sure the engine is full, and the power steering is full, and drive it. It does not sound like a huge problem... Yes, get manual hubs, but you should fix the cv boot when you have time... dirt will get in and eventually cause a failure....
