Had a great day, it was nice and relaxing to ride along in the pass seat. It was cold out but still a good day for wheeling. I did hit the snow on the way home.
Also had some excitement, with the empty trailer I figured towing in overdrive should be fine. About 40 miles into the trip home the engine revs up but I'm not speeding up, tap the brake to kill the cruise control and coast into a gas station beside the road. It had puked some fluid and there was some white smoke out the back when the trans slipped. I checked the fluid level and it was ok, let it sit for a bit to cool then hit the road to see what would happen. drove the rest of the way home (100+ miles) in 3rd not overdrive with no problems at all. I've drove the truck around today and it does fine. So now I need to find a trans guy to check it out.

Fixed.
Ive smoked one trans by mistake. From now on I will never work an auto (tow/wheel) with out a temp gauge.
X 3.14 I killed the trans on my 62 hauling the 40 back from Johns.

Also, I offered John and Tony cappuccinos when we arrived at 8:45am.
It would seem as if the Baseliners can get up and function in the morning, even after drinking themselves stupid the night before!
