Currently having issues with my backup camera. When the vehicle is put in reverse, I just get a black screen- no “check for surroundings”, just black.
I’m certain this issue stems from my repair of the license plate lights, but I’m not sure exactly what is wrong. In diagnosing the license plate lights wiring, I found that the harness clip located in the left corner of the upper lift gate was partially corroded and the wires matched those connected to the license plate lights. I clipped only those wires and spliced either end of them together to remove the clip from the equation. This fixed the issue and the lights work great now. While fixing the lights, I blew the TAIL fuse, replaced it, and all was fine.
I’m wondering if there is another fuse associated with the backup camera, or if anyone has a wiring diagram for the backup camera? I’m suspect of the clip that is corroded but don’t want to go clipping more wires without knowing for sure that they are for the backup camera.
