First time posting in the 80 forum....
Been contributing to the FJ40, FJ55 and diesel section a bit but first time in here..
I have swine flu pretty bad and have been working through considerable body work on my FJ55 I'd been planning on repowering with a 15B-FT and H55F. After taking the roof off and finding a heap of rust there to work through its going to take considerably longer than I initially anticipated.
With that in mind I wanted to get back out on the tracks so have purchased a 1994 FZJ80 which is auto. The plan being to first transplant the 15B-FT with intercooler and turbo pushing 20-30psi, then continue to work on the FJ55 body. When complete throw the 55 body on to the 80 chassis similar to what @cruiserjunktion has done with his rig.
So this will be my build thread for the 80 component.. I'll have a heap of questions going forward.. still after reading through all 23 pages of Diesel Transplanted 80 series Registry
Firstly, how do you work around the FZJ80 having an ECU and transplating in a mechanical engine and gearbox?
