Has anyone (in the USA) ordered from PPD, Manta or similar from down under in recent months?

I am looking at getting a cheap 3" setup for one of my rigs (1992 HDJ81), but given the egregious tariffs that have been applied to some of my recent Partsouq, Amayama and HD Automotive orders, I am wondering how a higher dollar order will fare.

It looks like "steel" is a 50% tariff from Australia, while "auto parts" face 25% in addition to a 10% base rate.

It seems like based off the invoices I've been getting from FedEx and DHL, nobody has a F*** clue how to implement the different tariff line items, so every invoice comes out different than what I calculate and it's all over the place.

Amayama now has a "prepaid" tariffs option, where they declare and collect the duty beforehand, this seems like the way to go instead of rolling the dice and getting a different number depending on wether the poor bastard at customs had his coffee yet or not.

Lastly, if exhaust is going to come out like $2k usd, for cheap PPD setup, do we have someone stateside fabricating bolt-on kits for 1HDT?

I ended up having a local exhaust shop custom fab one for me. Dropped the truck in the morning, drove home with custom exhaust that evening $900 installed. This was a couple years ago so probably a little more now, but likely much cheaper than importing an off the shelf one.

Basic exhaust work isn't terribly expensive, just don't expect to be getting a mandrel bent stainless system from your local exhaust shop. If you're ok with crush bend aluminized steel then that's the way I'd go.

Fedex can't handle these at all. My business exports to the USA and they're sending customers second bills weeks later to mop up tariff charges that they had all the information to calculate beforehand.

Go with any company who can calculate and front-load these costs. Otherwise you'll be hit later and they probably won't get the tariff codes right either.

I've had "ok" luck with DHL. Declaring the tariff beforehand, I've been paying way less. Two sets of ACL BEBs I payed the base rate up front and they went right through customs. The ones I let fedex "figure it out" were nearly 50%.

Evergreen Offroad, here in the US is a supplier of Manta.
I sent them an email asking what they have on the shelf, and for a shipping quote.

Doing it over again, I'd just have let my fabricator do it locally.
Going to visit a nearby exhaust shop on Friday and get a quote. They have a good reputation locally.

Pricing for something custom in stainless will likely be similar, but the end product is probably a little nicer and you have the ability to have it suit your needs more too.

I think GTurbo declared beforehand with DHL. PPD told me they tried to reach out to clarify it ahead of time but couldn't get anything tangible back from shippers, the results are self evident.

Good luck on your exhaust journey!

Local place does mandrel bent 13 gauge stainless. Quoted me under $500. Going side exit to avoid running 3" over the top of the rear axle.

Evergreen Offroad got back to me, they don't have exhausts on the shelf, they order it. It's about $1500 with shipping, no mention of tariff.

Local business it is!

That sounds like a heck of a good deal. I'd almost drive to Idaho for that 🤣

Seems like your local exhaust shop could do decent business turning that into a kit and selling it online if they were interested.
